Used this video to successfully do the front brake, rotor, pads, caliper on my 2007 carolla. Hardest part was getting the rotor off. Both were very rusted on. Had to hammer it off with a sledge. Took an hour on the first rotor. When in doubt. Keep hammering

Thanks bro! I liked how In depth you were and still done it quickly. The camera slowed ya down. I bet you could've done both sides in less than 16:08, if you didn't have to film the process for us to watch & learn LOL. I'm now subscribed. Thanks again

Thanks for mentioning the filing of the pads. I had a difficult time placing the new pads due to the angle of the rotor and limited view. I was working on it at home. I still haven't finished the job. I'll have to finish it tomorrow. Not looking forward to the other pads; however I have new information to assist me with the process. Thanks.

I'm sure it's an obvious question, but is it possible to put the guide pins on backwards on these types of brakes? I ask because I have a '02 Accord as well and the orientation of the guide pins matter a lot because of the rubber on the tip. So I just wanted to double check

Question. Do you have to purge the system by removing the brake line nut, pump the brake padel and open and close the port. It's that something that needs to be done after replacing the brake pads and rotors?

  • @RBTheMechanic

U mean bleeding !! No u don’t need to do that. But make sure u pump the peddle 4-5 times once’s job is completed before u start the car peddle should get nice and hard

@@RBTheMechanic my bad. I was taking about when you replaced the rear breaks. (The drum type) I''m not talking about bleeding. But just letting a little brake fluid pump out the brake line to get rid of any air. My pops says I'm supposed to do that but I don't understand the logic behind that.
