Could you do a caliper rebuild video, please?
Someone asked if there is a left and right caliper. The answer is YES. The bleeder valve needs to be on top when you install the caliper otherwise will not bleed properly. Hope this helps the next guy!!!
The hose pliers were a critical step to doing this that i did not know off. I really appreciete the thorough and detailed instruction.
Thanks for the video! Something like replacing brake calipers seems easy enough, but it's always those little steps a guy can't know until he's told that get him into trouble--like making sure the slider brackets are greased.
This fellow does a great job. He torques everything to specs and takes no shortcuts.
Good teacher, Good video. It was a proper brake job. The average shop wouldn't do that through of work.
1A Auto is the gold standard in producing these videos. When I need to do a job I look up a 1A Auto video to see if they have made a video on it. Excellent job guys and thanks for sharing your knowledge
Excellent video. Most thorough I have ever seen. Now I won't be missing any of those important little tricks! Thank you!
One of the more comprehensive how to or DIY videos. Good job.

Best in depth video of caliper replacement. Little tips that make the difference.
You changed the caliper carrier as well as the caliper itself; (which in the US) you call bracket. Very good video.
Holy veerhicle...
Excellent step by step demonstration on this project!
Thanks for taking time to show us all the finer details that may videos on KZread leave out.
Absolutely excellent presentation and provides much useful information for all-too-often neglected preventative maintenance purposes. Thanks. 2022/08/18. Ontario, Canada.
Great video. Really like the thoroughness of detail. If a shop did this for you, you would pay a "pretty penny" for a repair that is not so difficult, if you have the right tools and instruction. Really appreciate this company providing so much good content for the DIYer. Keep up the great work.

Got to change my caliper on Tuesday and this video is very helpful compared to other caliper videos I watched they tend to make changing this part look more complicating this. video is much easier, thank you ☺️
You are my supervisors doppleganger lol. Exact tone, the way you describe things in detail, safety...kind of scary.
Thank you SO MUCH " hey these, they are like gold, keep them" omg that is the stuff i misplaced or lose. Thank you, long story sort, you helped a dude with Narcolepsy who gets VERY forgetful. I watched it a few times, fixing a car I am giving to a friend.
As he said: do NOT reuse the copper crush washers. They wll leak if you do. Also on the bracket bolts: you see how there's some white color on the bolts? That's dried thread locker. You might want to clean the old thread locker off of them and add a little bit of new thread locker to the bolts that hold the bracket to the car. Those bolts have to be very tight unlike the slide pins.
1A Auto rocks! I have used your videos for a successful brake bleed and now I will use this video to replace the front calipers on my 2014 Dodge Challenger. Very much appreciate the precise and knowledgeable content you guys put out! Nice presentation Len(or is it Lenny)?
Do you have to bleed all The rest of the calipers if you only changing one calipers? Also is there a tool you can recommend to buy to close off the brake line when removing the caliper?
Great job on the video. I am thinking about replacing my front calipers on a 11 year old SUV. This video will help.
Great video, thanks. I've seen others recommend some thread lock on the bolts due to the amount of vibration brakes have. Like always, you all provide great how to videos! Thanks.
Great video well put together and very clear, many thanks 👍

I was told not to crimp the lines on the count they have metal inside. I didn’t crimp the lines and I didn’t get hardly any dribble. Just saying. Thank you for the video. Enjoyed as always.

Thank you for the video. I was able to change my own for the first time. I encountered some questions. When I remove the brake hose, the bolt had a small hole, I didn’t know if that hole had to align with the brake hose hole? They both had a hole. Also I used the new copper ring washer that came with the new caliper, after I finished both started leaking were the washers are, so I removed them and put the old original ones back and both leaks stopped. I guess new doesn’t always mean better. Thanks again for the video I learned from watching your video and trial and error.
Excellent knowledgeable guide
Len is " The Man " !
Very detail oriented video that is clear and cut. "Easy peesey"
Great Vid Great Technician!!
A Great video and very informative, just one thing I would add is to check the Master cylinder fluid when you were waiting for the fluid to statrt leaking from the Bleed nipple.👍
Thank you 👍
Best tutorial video
Man, this looks easy anyone can do it theirselves, they just need the parts. In my case, I need the parts and tools.
Great video. I plan on doing this to my 2016 silverado. I just have one caliper to replace front passenger, do I bleed all 4 brakes when done?
Thank you for useful description. I have a question for you. If I changed two front calipers , do I have to bleed all four brakes?
Excellent

I always fix my "veericle" with 1A Auto vids 😜
The black grease contain molybdenum which will eat away the plastic. It's for metal against metal. You should only use clear silicone paste on the slider

I have bought from 1A before for my wifes 08 Accord, and other "modern" cars, but very limited brake parts (no calipers) for my 1979 K5 Blazer.

79 is over 40 years old, it's an antique at this point, no sense complaining that you can't find parts for it without going to someone who specializes in that.
I like this guy amazing job…..
Instead of clamping the brake hose, you can use a piece of 2x4 against the front edge of the driver seat and press the brake pedal down.

@@beardedtoolreviews7185 Absolutely does work. I am using this technique right now as I rebuild the leaking piston area.on my Honda Civic. I strongly dislike crimping things. Just be certain to disconnect the battery as your bra,ke lights will be on the whole time.
Nice work, you should try using our products on your vehicle Thank you for the content

I can tell you why the pin wasnt lubed up, because the mechanic who fit it wants you to come back in a year when its seized up Lol
Hi the crush washers for benjo bolt have flat and rounded side so what is the orientation?
If my banjo bolt is leaking brake fluid is it possible I stripped it by tightening too much?
I’ve seen people use Sil-Glyde on the caliper slide/guide pins. Also, I’ve seen people use anti seize on the brake pad contact points. Is that ok?
Do you have to do both callipers at the same time if say one was seized?
Excellent! thank you
💥 I have to separate the brake line from the caliber and then bring the caliper somewhere to have the threads cleaned up because I strip them slightly. Could you tell me how to prevent the brake fluid from dripping out of the open line at the caliper end (the banjo bolt) in the half hour that I’ll be gone.??
Great video, the front right caliper on my Buick will lock up, not where the car stops but it shakes and gets incredibly hot, and I’m wondering if it needs lubrication on the parts or completely replace with new ones

+Organ Fan Thank you! We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
You did not mention that the banjo bolt has to align with the hose otherwise you will not able to bleed the system.I had that experience the hard way because the caliper that I bought is defective. The cylinder is seized inside the cup (made in China)
If you clamp the brake fluid line do you still need o bleed the break lines?
All well and good but what is the manf. specs for the screw torques????
Do you have to bleed the lines once your done
You know, if you would have used a clear vinyl hose over the bleeder and the other end in a bucket so you would not have to clean up after yourself. Other than that, it was a great video. I gave you a thumbs up.

Great video, just too much lubricant on the pins. If you add too much, the pin can't travel its full distance
is it safe to use copper anti seize on back of brake pad? is it safe on rubber piston boot?
What is a verikel?

Intentional speech impediment to see if the students are paying attention.
I heard that you don’t HAVE to do a manual brake bleed after bleeding the caliper. Is this true. Is it just recommended to do that. I need to know fast. Thanks.

+ThatGuyCoop It is good to do a manual brake bleed to get any air out of the lines.
What size socket to remove caliper 2002 chevy avalanche?
What were the size of the bracket bolts so that I can buy the right socket
What size are those brake caliper braket bolts?
Should caliper move a little after I put it on
can you share manufactures torque specs? Thanks
What is that electric cylinder thing your using I tried searching for it but idk the name of it
Hi, why are on Front calipers Pistons hollow and on the rear not? Thank You for answer
As I see with a lot of videos, mechanics always fail to give sizes of tools for removing parts. I like the video. Please next time include names and sizes of tools thank you

They actually usually put the parts used and socket sizes, but as he said in the beginning of the video, this instruction was not meant to be vehicle specific. The socket sizes vary from vehicle to vehicle.
Question. If I'm replacing both front calipers and rotors and pads, do I still need the same type of calipers I'm replacing?

+Emmanuel Brillant Thanks for watching! You just want to make sure that whichever part you purchase is going to be correct for your application. We recommend purchasing a part that is meant to replace your original factory part.
What kind of grease did you use ?
Drinking game “Manufacturers Specifications “
Very clearly elaborated and your presentation was so comprehensive, i just hope i have those high end tools, mine was just a DeWalt DCF 885 given to me by my sis, i think ireally need to hve a torque wrench. Anyways, Thanks a lot for this wonderful video. By the way I have subscribed 😊
Do you have a video for another style of caliper? Mine do not look like this. (03 T&C)
Hi could you please tell me what is the tighten torque manufacturer for a Lincoln Navigator 2003 4WD on front and back calipers?

It's not the space shuttle. Just tighten it.
Hi Len!! Where ya been !
Can you please clarify, "manufacturers specs" what exactly is the torque setting? for the pad bracket and caliper?
Wouldn't re-used pads from a bad caliper have weird wear from being used on a bad caliper?
Good tutorial! However, why did you double, and even triple, torque the bolts when you get the first click with the torque wrench? As far as I know that can possibly damage and/or strip the threads, right?
@doabackflip8506

Idk but it looked like he hardly tightened them up at all. Idk much about torque but I thought you had to crank down on um tight and hard?
No lock tight on bracket bolts?
Is it safe to drive without a rubber boot on caliper slide pin?
who else gets their parts from rock auto?
Dumb question, I've got a left front caliper that locked up. Can I just replace the caliper or do I need to replace the bracket as well? Auto novice here

Typically you only need to replace the caliper but a lot of aftermarket parts include the bracket
