You could buy an aftermarket fog light kit, or if you want a factory set-up, you may want to ask the dealer what's involved with adding that option to your vehicle.

We currently do not have an auto repair video for this particular repair. We'll keep this in mind in the event that we need to make this repair in the future.

@jonashbee Not sure, our truck had fog lights originally. The bolts are 10mm, the holes are smaller, 3-5 mm.

@ohyeamain On the backside of the fuse cover there should be a diagram that shows you which fuse it is. You may also want to check the switch for the fog lights to see if it's working properly. With a test light check to see if there's power coming to and from the switch. Another thing to look out for too is, see if the plug on the backside of the switch has heated up and gone bad. Hope this helps.

They may, you might want to check with the dealer to see if they could tell you if the truck was pre-wired from the factory.

Wow, those darn fog lamps can be a pain to get out, it took me awhile to get the bulb to finally twist enough to get out but I managed to replace it and it works. Thanks for the video!

Thanks, I literally just changed my drivers side fog light that went out over a week ago, didn’t have the bulb in stock (small town) so had to wait for it to get in, it literally took a couple of minutes to swap it, at dark time, just started snowing. My drivers side headlight went out around the same time to :/ same story, had to wait for the bulb. All good now.

Thanks for showing on how to fix things on dodges .I have 01 dakota 4.7 motor witch is sucking up gas now.runs good and im going to replace the 4 oxygen sensors but no engine is on.what do u think.thanks steve from new jersey

Yeah it may help to ask about the color codes on these wires to as that was also apart of the question I forgot about asking

They were a factory option. If they aren't there you would need to install them.

Do you by chance know which fuse is for the fog lights on a 99 Dakota? I checked the relay under the hood... It's fine, I have a Haynes manual and it tells me where the fuses are but doesn't help at all... Both of my fog lights went out last night at the same time. Thanks for any help.

Alright that was a pain to replace. All the bolts were rusted but hey I got it fixed. To anyone fixing the fog light on the drivers side in a 1998 Durango, good luck! but thank you 1a auto!

You should be able to remove it just like our video shows.

I purchased a 98 Dakota Sport. The truck does not have fog lamps but it does have a place on the dash for a switch and there are spots on the bumper I can cut out to mount them. I do not know if there is existing wiring. Can I purchase a complete kit to add lamps to the truck?

We currently do not have a wiring kit that would enable this option for you. If you go to the dealer they should be able to run your VIN number and tell you what you would need to install this as a factory option. Hope this helps you out. Have a great day! 1aauto

I have a 2001 4.7 Durango Sport without fog lamps... would it be easy to install fog lights? and what would it take to install the lightswitch for the Fog Lamp Option? would it be the same as the durango's of the 2000 and before era?

do you know if they come pre wired or would i have to wire it?

From experience with this truck it is not required to disassemble the park turn light assembly from the headlight. 3 10 mm bolts to take the light out that's it

Could you guys possibly do a replacement video of the fog light lamp on a 2001 Dakota. I looked at mine and I see only 2 torque screws on the back of the lamp with what I believe is the adjusting screw on the front. So could you guys find a 2001 Dakota with foglights and do a replacement video on replace the lamps(I know how to change the bulb not the lamp)

if my wiring is there for the fog lights, but no fog lights. how could i install them without buying an non OE kit. could i just buy the switch and the OE fog lights and put the fuse in?

i have a massive grill guard in the way so its kinda hard to remove the headlights

Does anyone know if foglights are adjustable on these??

i tried this myself but theres a bolt right behind the turn signal that hold the headlamp that is so f*#&@+(*g stuburn to remove.. help

You would need to find something to prevent that piece from turning, so that you can back the bolts out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Hi I do enjoy the contents of you video I have questions for you in regards to my 02dakota I wish to put after market fog light on my truck the question is how do I wire it to my head lights to stay on with the low beams I want to wire the to the head light harnesses so when the lights go on all are on And maybe stay on with high beams to Thank you in advance
