Well that sucked conveniently left out the cylinder lock rod

I mean, I don’t understand how you can call this a step by step video when you don’t even show a good way to put the lock rod back in. I mean it’s already embarrassing enough for ever designed this door handle at gm, but like come on

Worst step by step video from you guys... honestly. No possible way to do it with big arms from that little flapper window removed. Even then I'd like to see how you were able to punch that rod in AND ensure it was clipped in securely without being able to see it... I got mine in place and done but unfortunately my lock cylinder doesn't stay in place, my little lock thats supposed to snap up and hold it in place doesn't want to stay so I'm going to have to do mine all over again... such a pain.

Yeah your not alone with that .I tried 3 times to connect that stupid lock rod and still haven’t got it working .

It's amazing how them brass threaded inserts stayed in place.

Good vid, just one little thing, lol didn't show how you hooked up the last bar for the lock, I take it it was tuff🤣😅

I figured I would have to drill out the rivets... but he didn't mention how big arm dudes would be able to even reach the lock cylinder from way down below...

good chance that first 10mm falls down but no worries, magnetic pick up tool but I found a trick when installing, put some blue painter tape on the nut and jam it into the socket. I had to do this recently on a dakota for a bolt that you simply could not get finger access and even with a snap-on socket it would fall off too easily.

My lock cylider rod though. Wtf i cant get it too conect

I had a hard time removing those connectors at 0:44 , so what worked for me was to actually remove the whole switch out . Then it was a lot easier to pry it out .

I did not see you remove that door flap with the rivets, is there a reason why you removed it? also why use rivets and not screws or bolts? not everybody has a rivet gun!

so how do you attach the lock rod to the handle? kinda glazed over that

That thing that you riveted in around 6:45, do you have to take it out to do this job? It didn't show it being taken out in the video so I'm not sure if I need to take it out or not

This method is far better. Not need to be taking everything off the door and messing with the glass as shown in the other video.
