How To Replace Broken Zipper Slider | Aero Leather Jacket

In this video, I show the complete start to finish process for replacing the zipper slider on my Aero Leathers Highwayman. I was a complete beginner approaching this task.
In what I feel is a great customer service stance, Aero Leathers will send a replacement slider if yours breaks.
In my case, the pull tab on the slider was completely pulled off by the previous owner. The area at the base of the jacket where two layers of thick leather come together creates a bottleneck over the zipper. Hasty zipping without care, or pulling at the end of the pull tab rather than the base are the two most likely reasons for the break.
Each step took longer than I hoped, but in the end I replaced the zipper slider and the jacket zips now!
Taking a little time and holding the pull tab at the base made for a smooth zip.

Great video man. Was wondering if you could make a video in regards to jacket reselling and the process you might go through to do that. I think that would make for a really interesting idea.

Good work. Apparently, when you've cleaned the zip teeth, if you then run a pencil up and down a few times, this will help keep it running more smoothly for a long time.

Thanks! Have heard the pencil trick. I do also have a tube of zipper ease, which is a wax based product
So glad that bran I like has that great customer service though you didn't got the jacket directly from them. Great stuff. Btw excellent looking time pice! Is it a vintage Eterna?

Yeah man. Really stand by their product. The watch is a Doxa Sub 200 “Sharkhunter”
Actually it look really good zipped qll the way up. Not bad to have options

Yeah options are 👌 Most often I feel like it will still be unzipped but versatility is very nice

Well done ! Do you lubricate your Zips with pencil lead (graphite) or what ? In England zippers are known as zips, I’m sure you know that.

Thanks Iron Dog! I have a stick of zipper wax called ZipperEase. You rub a little along the zipper teeth then work the zipper over jt
Do we need some kind of zipper oil? I never really researched zippers on jackets. I did have a zipper blow out on my old Spidi motorcycle jaket.

@@DudsByDel it's for a Schott, for the sleeves. The ones that are on it now are Ideal branded and aren't very good
