I've been changing brakes for years now. Not once have I thought to use the old pad and some channel locks. You learn something new every day.

I had a break pad fall out & got frustrated with the junkyard repairs I usually get done... so I did it myself... came inside and watched this... I wish I saw this first. That damned piston. duh. thank you.

Thanks for the video. I have to do the brakes on my 97 corolla and it was awesome to find someone break it down so easily. Those are about the easiest looking brakes I've ever seen. It's funny that you misname parts constantly because I do the same exact thing, LOL.

Great tutorial, As was suggested it definitely would help some if you had included the size extensions that will be needed for the specific bolts, as for the whole installation it was very well descriptive and will come in handy for those in need! I do however believe that when you do the brakes after you reset the pistons that it's possible that you may have to bleed the brakes (not 1oo percent on that, but I know you have to when you replace the caliper). As for your commentary, it was great! I loved the slip up words, such as "removing the old hub... installing the new hub", but I hope most who were watching would've known what you meant. Overall, It was a great video and it is appreciated in the Corolla community! Thumbs up.

Great video. Will be doing my brakes this weekend. Have a 90 or 91 corolla, this video will surely help. My only suggestion would be to explain why you used break grease or other products for those of us that know virtually nothing about vehicles.

it would be nice to know what size sockets are used. i am going to have to repair a 1997 corolla , & would like what tools to bring with me. i saw on another video, but can't find again, that one was 14 mm

Hi Tom Wiggins, thanks for the question...and thanks for the great ideal...In the future Ill remember to mention the size of tools Im working with and where they go.. that car was done quite awhile before I put the video out...I cant remember exactly 100% sure about the size of bolts (old age) ..I think they are a 14mm and 12mm...I used a half in. breaker bar to break them loose..I hope this helped

Is a 1996 Corolla the same disc brakes? Or is it slightly different because of a year difference? Same procedure?

Uncle Mike, ours is a 2008 Corolla and it is seized on. Your vid shows the rotor just pops out. How do we remove ours? Do you have a vid?
