You, Sir, are a true hero! I succesfully repaired my AEG (about 7 years old) today. I was careful to buy the correct seal, but the rest of the process was more or less the same as in this video. Marvellous!! T he most difficult part was the placement of the inner ring of the seal. I didn't quite got the right method in the beginning. Your zoom-in from 06:05 is essential. It is only about the first lip. Sir, where can I put my money so you can buy a few pints of me?

Worked well for AEG L6FBN84GP (Lavamat 6000 series), there were only few minor differences. Thanks, couldn't have done it without this tutorial!

This was very very helpful thank you. I just changed my seal in the AEG washing machine. I didn't remove all the parts you did, just the front, top, panel, door and counter weight. So far no leaks or errors!

These are great and very helpful video's. Thank you for that. I am about doing the same for an older 2003 model AEG L74640 Update. I removed the front panel and I am facing the contraweight now. Does it have to be removed for these older models as well in order to install the seal? I am affraid to rip of the mounting pins which are pretty deformed. And because of the deformed pins, I will have a hard time re-installing the contraweight?!

@@How-to-repair Thank you for responding. This applies to a 2003 model AEG L74640 PNC 91400240000. I first tried to fit the new door seal with the concrete block still attached to the front but I quickly found out removing was the best option. The deformed pins gave me a hard time sliding of the concrete block from the drum. I finally solved that getting a hair dryer and heating up the pins slightly. This gave the pins some flex and after that it was easy to slide the block from the drum. Without the concrete block it was a breeze to install the new door seal. I cleaned the holes in the block and the mounting pins at the drum. Over the night I did put some clamps on the pins in an attempt to squeeze them back. Before re-installing the block I put a bit dishwasher soap in the mounting holes. With an extra pair of hands which hold the drum into position, the concrete block returned quite easily back to its position at the drum and I was able to finish the job successfully. Happy washing again. These machines are still repairable despite their age and as long as I can get parts I will do so when needed. Your repair video's are a gem, thank you for these!

Can you tell me how to replace a drum paddle on a 2018 AEG 6000 series Lavamat? Do you just pull them forward? Not sure if they screw in or clip in.

Hi ,thought I had done it correctly ,but my new seal does go back to the wall of the machine so it is impossible to fit the spring without pulling the seal off ???.
