Great video, my old serpentine belt broke. Using this video, plus an extra set of hands I was able to easily install the new belt in under an hour's time total. After placing the belt in position on all pulleys except for #5 in the diagram. I was able to loosen the tension under the car while my extra set of hands up top easily slid the belt over the top of the final pulley. don't let other comments keep you from attempting this yourself.

Waiting on rockauto to deliver the corn dogs and I'll be ready to work on my sisters focus! Thank you for the help!

Great video to change a belt on an 09 focus... I also needed to have a second person to adjust the same belt on the water pump pulley lol... the routing method is you show is the easiest way to get it on... it can be frustrating but this video helped me get er done... thanks !!!

After struggling to get the belt on with the tensioner fully engaged(after braking the tensioner nut and replacing) have a 21mm socket ready for when you half have the belt around the harmonic balancer (with tensioner engaged) put the 21mm socket on the harmonic balancer and turn it to fully seat the belt on. Just a extra tip for those that are struggling.

@@vanessasleiman more so average hourly shop rate is $75 plus the costs of the belts that for dirt cheap. So basically the guy was gonna charge for 2 hours of work and not parts. Fairly typical and this job only takes an hour or less.

How convenient you jump cut over the struggling to get the belt slipped on, watching this video thinking I could do this, 3 hours later I have a stripped bolt on the tensioner and I have to tow my car now

Very helpful and good video. Two suggestions - instead of going over the bottom pulley with an edge, it was way easier to go over the middle smooth sided pulley....which leads to my second suggestion, clamps. Doing it by myself, I needed clamps to hold the rachet on the tensioner pulley to then stand up and reach in to pull the belt over the smooth sided pulley (the one you needed your wife's help on). It was easy, peasey that way.

Yes it does. I changed the belt on my 2008 Focus and it's the same as 2009

hi years ago a mechanic who had been in the trade for over 30 years taught me a old trick and since then I have been passing it on to others. take a water bottle and spray just a little on the belt if the noise stops the issue is with the belt

If you remove the upper passenger motor mount and jack the engine up about 6 inches you can reach the belt from the top and not have to get under the vehicle. I learned this from a mechanic friend.

If you tie a string around the pulleys instead of a belt, it's cheaper and quicker too.

Hi! Can you do a video changing serpentine belt in 2009 Ford Focus Sport (Europe) coz I need to replace it and I don´t have any idea of how to start it. because the engine of my car is pretty different than that 2009 Ford Focus engine... thank you, and greetings from Mexico.

My belt came off 3 times after chging...ended up being tension pullier it never went back to full tighten strength...

I agree..music is as bad as rap or country..that aside video very helpful.. does it come up when you search for replacing belt 2010 Ford Focus if so I guess I missed it but if not it should
