This week we take care of a leaky axle seal on the Riviera camper. An easy job if you know the tricks, which I show you here! I also show you how to drain and fill the reduction boxes to keep everything nice and lubed.

Video couldn't have been better. Great job explaining everything and not going too fast. You took your time which was perfect. I have done this on my bug but not my bus and wouldn't have known about the spacer otherwise. Appreciate you.
Just found your channel. Just subscribed. I'm doing a series on 72 super currently. I have 5 beetles and can't wait to add a type 2 to the channel. Keep up the good work.
Hey Jason. I replaced the seal on my bus yesterday. Thanks for the video, I felt better about doing it after watching you go through each step.
Great video. thanks!
Thanks for this video!
Thank you so much for showing all detail. I am making a video of my bus's axle leak repair. Could you allow me to use some part of your (this) video in my video, please. Thank you very much.
I am getting ready to change my rear axle seal, i was wondering what oil and how much do i put in when im done. I picked up a 17mm allenwrench to take of top cap. I love the video and am looking forward to getting started. Bless
nice vid, thanks...but MY seal carrier ( 66 beetle ) has no 'wall' to tap the seal up against, how do i know how far to put it? flush to the out side of the car? funny, ive DONE this job in the past and must have just been lucky, THIS time its leaking bad!
Spacer outer one should be pressed into seal prior to install,if not done thaseal spring will dislodge
What brand/type of sealant did you use on that gasket?
Boot seam needs to be at 1 to 2oclock postion
Did anyone else notice that he used the wrong seal driver to drive in that seal ? You want to drive it in on the outside edge of the seal, not the inside edge !!
I've been looking at ultra sonic cleaners. Got a link for yours and the seal install kit? Thanks and great videos!
What year is your Bus? I am working on a '66 and some videos have a spacer in the housing for the rear axle seal. Is that correct?
Do you not need the large gasket around the large ring that came in the kit
why you no new shoes. back brakes will be locking up after 100 mils even if you clean them the diff oil that trapped in the matrix of the shoe. will keep weeping out slowly causing brake fade
The boots always leak when we jack them up and those swing arms go down
I made my Axle Seal Replacement video and I used a part of your video in it, thank you very much for letting me use. It is around
