I'm grateful for this effort! My wife went ahead and ordered the new replacement heating element (which came with thermal regulator and thermal cut offs.) Once I had access to the heading element, it was MUCH more difficult that suggested here. The screws all required a socket, the screw pointing upwards, required that I borrow a socket set that was small enough to fit into the tiny space provided to get the guard off. Then, the old heating element was also attached with a screw, but the space on the side to access it was even SMALLER! Well, after 3 hours, and half a dozen borrowed tools, trips back and forth, I successfully have the new element installed. It does heat up, so I'm going on the assumption that the thermostat and cut off products won't need to be installed at present. When they do, I'm getting a PRO! This didn't show his actual changing of the parts and the lackadaisical approach suggested quite strongly that it'd be a 5 minute event.

I went from planning on just paying for it to be fixed to holding a broken heating element in my hand after about 10 minutes time thanks to this video. With a basic socket set and being a bit of a contortionist you can reach everything. Thank you kindly.

This was perfect I just checked continuity on all the fuses and this video helped me get the dryer open correctly. This was perfect timing on your video post know one else has a proper video easily opening the frontto just replace heating coil or thermal fuses. Thank you! It was the heating coil that went bad for me as well!

How to connect between wires connectors after replacing a heating element : up to connect a heating element is black, down is a red, connector, then the rest of a black connector to plug in down of the middle thermostat, then the red connector of down in a heating element to connect down of the third thermostat, then there is a connector with red and white color to connect between the up of the second thermostat to connect up to the first thermostat? can you correct me if I'm wrong?

When you replaced the element, did it just slide into that tube? I’m working on the dryer at my wife’s shop, and it’s just like this. I replaced thermistor and fuse first, but noticed the element wasn’t heating all the way. Anyway, does the whole tube get replaced, or the element comes out?

You will pull out the entire silver tube. Then replace what you need. Then tube gets installed back into place

Hi David, great video. I have the exact same dryer. Would you have a picture of which/where the wires connect to the element, thermostat, etc. I did not get a good Picture of the wires. I used the manual and what I could find online but just want to be sure i have it wired correctly.

I appreciate the comment. Unfortunately I do not. What I did was label the current wires and make the with a marker so when I do reconnect I will be able to match them up.

I noticed the tube has a tab on the top of the back of the tube. You have to slide the top of the tube in and up first, then the bottom should go in with a little effort. It took me a minute, but it’s supposed to be a snug fit.
