Step by step instructions on fitting a new Hotpoint door interlock
1. You need to remove the Hotpoint door retaining wire which can be held together in 3 different ways one is a spring clip two is a nylon hasp clip and third is a screw type, like an oversize jubilee clip
2. You need to peel back the Hotpoint door seal or gasket to get access to the rear of the door lock before undoing the interlock
3. You now need to undo the screws that hold the Hotpoint interlock in place then with your hand make sure it does not drop down inside the Hotpoint washing machine. Some door interlocks fit flush to the panel and others hook into the panel
4. We now need to unplug the wiring from the door Hotpoint interlock in some cases the wires are held in with a plug and in others they are held on by individual spade terminals. Remember were the wires come from its a good idea to draw a diagram, and if possible take a photo.
5. In most case they will be the same as the original but sometimes the new door lock may vary from the old one you took off. Please check for any additional information within the packaging as sometimes the manufacturers will have made modification changes which might mean there will be terminal changes or wiring alterations.
6. You will need to connect the Hotpoint washing machine wiring to the new door lock In most cases this will just mean connecting a plug that will only fit one way but if you have individual terminals you will have to consult your wiring
7. Refit screws to your door Hotpoint interlock then fit seal or gasket to your front panel and replace the wire band.

So helpful busy household with five small children and I have a washing machine that doesn’t work is an absolute nightmare. I couldn’t have replaced the door mechanism i’m actually seeing somebody do it very fast learner but I can’t fix anything without step by step tutorials. This video stopped to be having a breakdown. And I’ve successfully fix the interlocking door for my washing machine. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this.

This saved me about half an hour and bruised knuckles trying to get to the interlock from the back :-)

Hi can you please help me? My washer keeps showing f06 error code , its hasn't got no screws where the locking system is its just 2 dots, and there's nothing around the seal to take away to get in to get the locking system out to change it. Many thanks

hi,i followed your vid n fitted new interlock(very easy after watching,thank you)...but the same problem remains....constant flashing door lock light and door not locking,machine not starting any cycle...any further ideas?...ty....mark
Hi - If you are still reading the comments for this video could you tell me where I can get the screws to hold the interlock in place on WMYL 8352 P UK Hotpoint. I think the interlock may well be ok, just fallen inside. Or can I use any suitable screws? I'm a little concerned that the door won't close properly if I use the wrong ones. Many thanks.

I’ve removed the screws and it won’t pull off, slide off or move at all, it’s stuck solid, I’ve tapped it prized it but hasn’t moved 🤨
Changed interlock but it just clicks and doesn't lock the door child lock led on and can't reset

How can I check the interlocks in washing machine the model is bosch logixx 9 varioperfect e-nr WAS24422GR/07. The code of the original door lock is 00619468. Contacts are 3,2,1 which bridge cables.because I understand I have problem with the washing machine if anyone knows let's answer thanks

Some of the new door locks have little white plastic clips that you push in have a look at some of my bosch videos

Hi, I have a wmaqf721 but I do not have screws above and below the interlock just 2 small rubber dots, please help? Thanks

Mine is the same plus there's nothing around the rubber to take off to get the lock out

Just in case anyone else reads this and you have the same type as me. Take the lid off. Push both of those black dots inwards, they're like buttons. Slide the interlock ever so slightly to one side and then wriggle it away from the back.

I have no screws on mine and that is why I am struggling. I think I will have to brake the old lock out
