Yes, it is better to do this type of job yourself. We have some friends who had their door handle replaced and the shop did not do a very good job - they didn't even seem to put the door panel back on correctly. They were probably just in a hurry and were sloppy with the work. Thanks for watching today, Sam!

I became your 667th thumbs up saving you from hellfire. Thank you for the informative video. It was to the point and made this task easy. Here are just a few problems that I ran into: 1st as stated by someone earlier, the holes where the rods attach had to be drilled larger on a part ordered on Amazon. I also had trouble disconnecting the harness for the switches. It was extremely tight and the connector snap broke. I don't anticipate a problem because when reconnecting it was still very tight and won't disconnect on its own.

I just took off the clips on my friends car and left it connected as had same issue. You could also try turning it straight up and pulling it out. Second one I decided to leave it in and had no issue just was careful not to pull in the cover as it hung there. You could always sit it on something. The holes didnt seem like would fit either I thought was going to have to drill but I tried a few more times and got it in.

Hey Handy ! I have a 1997 Camry LE. Grey INterior though. I ordered the handle you replaced in the video off eBay -listed for 97-01. Should your instructs work the same for when my son replaces it? Watched a few videos- but yours was easy to follow and not a full-length movie. Thanks!

Spray some WD40 around the connector will may it easy to remove. Thanks for the video

Great video but i would like to say one thing if you are buying this part from Amazon or Ebay on the bezel where those two rod goo's in you going to have to drill the holes little bigger or the rods will not fit it will be tight the door lock would not work right.

I had same issue just have to make sure it's all the way up and after a few tries it fit somehow. My only issue was one of the handles were tight to open and unopen. Now will probably take apart and make sure nothing moved

I have a question. I just replaced mine and the lock is hard to lock and unlock and won’t move when you use the button to unlock

Good vid but you had your back to the camera for one of the most important parts .how to connect the rods to the door handle.

I took out all the screws but my driver's door panel wouldn't come off on the left side for some reason. it was snagged on something. I tried lifting it from the bottom like you did in the video but it didn't want to come out.

Did you make sure to take the plastic thing about the panel for side view mirror? Should be 5 screws I believe and the screw in the handle. Take off the cover and try to pull the bottom out. Also possible you have an extra screw in the left of door? Check the side I've seen it before idk why though. I know some models are made in different countries and vary. Japanese models come with cabin filter for example and us model doesnt

The black plastic that holds the door latch broke. Can I just use something like JW weld for plastic instead of getting a whole new door latch?

Tried doing this turns out the previous owners fixed it the ghetto way before and the small metal rods where completely broken from the plastic hinges so I couldn't even fix it

Yep, as I was looking at other videos from different cars - most are designed like this, take the entire panel off!

🛑🛑This is dangerous if you don't fix right away. If you left your keys outside of car and door slams shut on you , you will be trapped in your car -even worse in extreme weather if you don't have phone on you to call for help. Keep spare hidden ignition key inside until you fix.

Roll window down and open from outside??

I was able to replace the handle without taking the door apart. I made sure that the correct cable was on the locking part of the assembly. After I put it back together, the door lock will not lock or unlock. It's as those the cable has too much slack. The piece barely moves. The locking mechanism, (plastic part), barely moves, when I try to lock or unlock it. This is the 3rd handle I've ordered and they all do the same thing. What is causing this and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance.
