@@semperfimechanic yeaa man I know that shit sucked lol
Nice job
Great info! Grab yourself a pair of snap ring pliers. They have sets that come with internal & external heads. Got mine pretty cheap at Advanced Auto but maybe Amazon has them even cheaper.
thanks Alex!
Do you do any work on diesels? I need to do an injector pump for my gen1 duramax... any tips?
Awesome man. You make it look easy and I have these tools. And could have done that. You ever order a part like a lower control arm and it don’t fit ? 05 dodge Dakota. Skp arm from Rick auto and too big can’t get it it. Other side is a different brand that was on sale and went right in.
Nice work
Well it works, job well done.
If you can press in a ball joint with a C clamp the arm is Worn out.😮😮😮. The hole is too big.😢😢😢
Just replace the whole control arm is easier and you get rid of those worn rubber bushings too😅
I got a WJ with a 4.5 lift and used this method lol 😆....I used my torch to make it easy but it works rather quickly....I live in Colorado so no rust up here just dry rot since it's basically a mile high desert
Good shit mannice new hub and bearing along the way
Thanks brother
That's how you do it after a few beers and a huge lunch
Might have to do this on the 4 wheeler since the ball joints are smaller than my press is made for

Thank ya sir
Nice
What size socket was that ?
Right on
I did the same thing because I didn't have a ball joint press kit!! What I DID have was a C clamp and a gate post cap😂😂 it was a major headache because it was 14⁰ outside. Wish I had come across this video 2 weeks ago when I was actually searching smh. Got the job done, but on my passenger side, I just replaced the whole lower control arm. It cost a bit more, but I just looked at it as a convenience fee🤷🏿♂️ Took that repair from a 9 hour trial and error physics calculation to a simple 3 hour step by step process.
Thank you for your service, assuming by your pfp, second, great video man!

When I got problems sliding it in a bit I called her pretty and she gives in
You can borrow the press from any local auto parts store though if you leave a deposit.
Ol skool😊😊
In a world with no rust, far far away. Working on vehicles was so much easier.
Lol! Try that on an old chevy! I've broke many clamps trying that! Not impossible but damn close!
idk alex jones was making car videos
It works but can tear the a arm up easy doing that seen it happen many times and repaired that problem a few times as well
I always tac weld Balljoints that press into a stamped steel control arm.. cast iron not at all just press er in..
He has complete "control" of his "arm"
Great job getting the job done but you should've got the tool from the auto parts store when you got the part. Gotta look professional if your working on someone else's car.

Wow, what vehicle is that? Looks really easy to work on
You don't spit on the rim of the hole first? So the tip goes in easier?
I wish they were all that easy.
What was on the bottom of the ball joint while the squeezing was happening? If nothing then I want to see the bottom on the joint after pressing
@semperfimechanic

I had a 36mm shallow socket on bottom. Its the same as using the cups that come in the actual press set
You know if you stuck that ball joint in the freezer it would slide in no problem
With 10g in tools you should have multiple snap ring pliers
Shoulda just put the jack under to press in and hit with bfh to get out????
Is this Alex Jones ? 😂
Greg "The Hammer" Valentine
Respect for what u do..but what the hell kind of vehicle was that? Or was it a trailer?
Easy peezy
I never lubed mine I’m gonna try that next time

My VW they are bolt on. 😊
Why does it sound like this guy has a cigarette in his mouth the entire time he's filming?
Is it the same process when we're sober?...
All my years working on vechicals and it alot since my father was a mechanic. Never seen a ball joint go in that easy when it is started crooked .
As easy as that went in don't forget to do what Scotty Kilmer says and put a weld on it
I'd like to see how he mangled that circlip back on
Honda?
Say got damnit! And fymf
Did ya notice the ball joint press beside him? Now do the top one.😊
You didn't use a press but used a C clamp as a press.
That control arm looks like it would fold in half with my 95lb 4’9” Asian wife standing where the ball joint used to be. That’s got to be a Ford.
I tried that on a grizzly in alaska.. ended up using a 1/4 of acetylene tank
I think it’s easier to drive to the auto parts store and use the loan a tool lol

It is but you still have to put down the $100 bucks to get it and yes you get the money back when your done but some people might not have the $100 to begin with
That single swing of the hammer is kinda sus
😆only if all jobs were that easy!
Try that on a second gen cummins !
But our shop has the correct tools.
I went to pepboys for tires they told me i needed a ball. Joint so i came back another day at scheduled time it took the guy about 5 hours to replace ball joint i dont remember if i got the tites that day or not it was 3 years ago ,it didnt last under a year went back for warranty part took car to my regular mechanic it only took 30 minutes total time .jjf.west of west phila.pa Trump 24.be safe tom!!

Man I'm going to take all my Snap-on Master press ,and all the expansion packs ,and just throw them in the garbage ,and get myself a yard sale C-clamp now.
