Good video. Thank you. Pay attention to how he holds the pieces at the beginning -- there's a reason for it: all the buttons fall out if you open it upside down. Discovered this on my own.... yes indeed!

But what you probably also discovered was that each button has its own unique shape, so as long as you've recovered all of the buttons, you can easily put them back in the correct order... But as you point out that initially, the correct order of the entire procedure is very important 👌🏽 😊

You made it so easy to follow on your video. One thing I tried before I opened fob was to put a piece of scotch tape om outside over buttons ant it held them in place without letting them fly out

That you so much. I had change the key fob battery for my 2017 since I purchased it in 2019. The battery was going dead because when I tried to unlock or lock my doors, it sometimes didn't work. Today is September 3, 2023 and you were a tremendous help with this.

I used a duracell branded battery and the keyfob buttons stopped working. I then used a PANASONIC branded battery and the buttons worked. The dealer wanted $400 for a new key.

I just replaced the old Panasonic 2016 size battery with a new Duracell 2016 battery in my Toyota fob and it works perfectly fine, as designed, just to dispel any doubts or fears that anything other than a Panasonic 2016 battery wouldn't work just as well... Peace ✌🏽

The Duracell batteries have a coating on the back that needs to be pealed off. Oh well, relatively speaking, the batteries are cheap compared to taking it to the shop.

I just tried the Duracell battery on my 2016 camry. It didn't work, so I put an energizer battery. Now it works

Thank you for this video! I picked up a Duracell 2016-3V battery from CVS and was able to replace my alarm battery in under 5 minutes. ETA: The Duracell battery actually ended up not working so I tried an Energizer 2016-3V battery and it worked! For anyone that can’t find Panasonic batteries, Energizer will also work.

I also am having trouble with the Duracell battery, but the Panasonic seems to work fine. Weird - they are the same battery (CR2016) and same voltage...but one works, the other doesn't.

I got it working. I think it had something to do with that red “ hold button “. I held it down for a few seconds and then it started working.

It didn't work for me. I replaced the battery after watching your video,but I still can't make the trunk open with the fob. The doors won't open either. May have to go thru the dealer🤔
