One tip I would add is to try to cover the least area possible when making repairs. I found when I did some repairs patching holes on the mounting points, I made the patches a lot bigger than they needed to be. The result was the seat became much stiffer and the kart’s handling was affected quite severely.

If you want to really keep the dust & itch away wet sand. I cut my seat in half & added 5”because I’m a big fat fatty! 😂

what would the process be to patch the drilled holes in the seat?

You can get a few types of glass fibre, the resin is pretty much the same. For a hole, id use the filler type, with finely chopped glass, instead of the matting types. Then fill the rear, id use tape on the front of the hole to prevent mess and apply the glass fibre into the rear. Then once its set, sand both front and rear smooth and finish. The rest is pretty much the same as here regarding preperation and finish.

Also, if you want to get more structural strength after the repair, add a layer of matting as here to thicken it abit, but that will add abit of weight then drill new holes.

Is it worth it to repair right under the butt area along the edge? My seat gave way and sags down. Is this too far gone?

  • @PowerRepublic

its cheaper to repair than get a new seat. new is best option if you have the budget, otherwise fix it up and sent it !!!!! PS run your seat level with the frame and you'll be sweet
