    Thank you for this (and all your) videos. You do indeed show people an easy, inexpensive way to do things themselves rather than pay for new things or overpriced services. I grew up very poor and my brother and I learned to DIY and think outside the box. I recently viewed a infomercial video doing the same thing to seats and their products were starting at $60 to do one seat with their "Magic" repair kit! I did the entire interior with your method and spent about $20 and it looked like a new car. I'm a disabled vet and if I can do this, anyone can. Thanks again, keep these videos coming.

    @Sweet Project Cars. I would love it if you can tell if these steps are correct. I'm going to be attempting this tmr. And would like to know if I got everything down. So first I clean the seat with 99%, then apply leather prep. Then I apply the silicone, let it rest for 24 hours. Then after it dries. Do I apply another layer? Anyways, after that I reapply 99% and leather prep? Then get into the painting process. Does this sound correct?

    Another great video! Do you think a rip or hole could be repaired using this method. I was thinking that it may be possible to glue a backing patch inside the rip/hole and then use this technique to fill & level the the backing patch to the surface of the seat material. The hole/rip is on the side bolster of a seat back. I’m thinking this may work. What are your thoughts?

    Hi, interesting video, I have a query here, when this seat is finished and is used ie. if someone sits on it, will the fillings will not come out due to the fact that the leather and the foam underneath it had a flexibility to stretch a little or more depending upon the weight placed on the seat. looking forward to your comments.

There is 2 spray paints listed the SEM and the Colorbond LVP is that just 2 different brands that we could use or do we need to purchase both.? Also on the leather and vinyl repair kit is that something that we need i didn’t see you use it in the videos i watched all 3 of them multiple times to see if i missed the part where you use the kit but you only use the silicone. Why would we need the kit for? I’m sorry if you’ve answered these questions before, i was trying to look over some comments to see if maybe someone asked this before but i didn’t find any. Thanks!

And if so how long to wait before running my thumb over the area? TY

  • @SweetProjectCars

    @SweetProjectCars

    Жыл бұрын

    You are going to have to apply until it's smooth now, and if you are doing this in a hot dry area, you've got to be johnny on it! Make sure that your silicone nipple is cleared out onto a rag so that you are applying absolutely fresh silicone. Try to put enough at the beginning so that when you run your spatula over it you run out at the very end where you no longer need silicone. A couple of tips: 1. hold the spatula as flat as you possibly can so that it lays on smooth 2. as far as your ridges are concerned, use the back side of your finger to smooth them out (the area between your 1st and 2nd knuckle). Another tip is you cannot dilly dally with this because the silicone almost sets up immediately so you gotta move fast and efficiently. Hope this helps, all the best my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC

    I have heated and cooled vented leather seats in my Kia Optima. The perforated area (lumbar) where the air comes through have some rips in them. The panel is about 12" x 12". I would love to use the silicone glue technique to stop all of the ripping but this would not allow the air to pass through. How would you recommend fixing that? Can you do a video to show that repair so the air can still vent through? Maybe use your technique, then poke each hole with a pin before the silicone fully drys, maybe after it drys?
