I think the other end of your wire rope or cable that is clamped inside has a head on it for pipe cleaning so you could literally just take that wire out and end for end it then put it back in and you would have new wire just a little bit shorter

When you cut the cable with the saw does it still function correctly without that special tip on it anymore?

Maybe put the cable in a vise and pull it in opposite direction of the kink? Probably not perfect fix, but enough to make cable usable again.
