Yes this happen to me this morning with my camera. I got the screen back like you did but what about it showing the room or subject that you want to take the picture of in the view finder. Where is that? I lost that! :) Thanks.

Thankyou one million times! I followed advice given and it has solved my problem. I have Canon eos 80D with sudden complete loss of LCD screen, other functions would seemingly work, however, photos taken were not being stored to card memory (obviously to find this out I had to insert card into PC) I had already done alot of research, nothing had helped, this did though! Bloody card, I had run out of memory space on computer so had been using it as basically an external memory drive, All sorts of files, heaps of uploading and downloading here there and everywhere, anyway, apparently it's not friends with the camera anymore! THANKYOU SO MUCH!

Thank you so much! I thought I broke my camera. I have used the same Sandisk card to transfer photos from my Cannon camera to my HP Laptop and back to the camera. Something must happen to the card after being used in the computer. Thank goodness I don't have to get a new camera.

In this case, the SD card is bad and it's causing the problem, it is possible that it can happen with any camera.
