    The easy way is to buy the same headphones from Amazon and return the broken one. I spent $200 on mine and they broke a month after my 2 year warranty finished. In the old days, you didn't have this problem cause when you paid for something, you expected it to last.

    Burning the wires tips removes the protective layer so they become conductive and you can use that spare jack metal pins to connect them as normal wires.

  • @MosoKaiser

    @MosoKaiser

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@rogue_spirit Sure, it does, but just tying the wire ends to the soldering tabs won't make any sort of a reliable connection. Sound constantly cutting out sooner or later is to be expected. A plug with screws for attaching the wire ends would make a proper connection, but the one shown used in the video is just a regular kind that needs soldering.

  • @imnotbeluga007

    Not just 2x. If you're using your headphones well, even 3x or more is possible! Don't even use an extender, just add a female audio jack (if you have headset style headphones like me), but if you have wired earbuds, you're out of luck.

    This is a GREAT example of how NOT to repair your headphones. likely to get a short and ruin your playing device if it does not have the right fail safe mechanism/s. CRAZY!

    What about the damper thing that prevents the cable from bending too far and pulling out at the cable end of the plug? Also, you forgot to solder and insulate the wires after you put it together..

  • @webgpu
    @webgpu5 жыл бұрын

    You forgot to tie a knot after inserting the wire through the plug and before passing the individual wires through the holes. This way it will block the wire from passing back from the connector after being assembled (in case it is jolted)

    Brian C Many new headphones that are being manufactured now have a coating on the wires that cannot be burned completely off. Hence, when you go to make the connection it will be faulty or there will be no connection at all and no audio heard.

    Many times the wiring of the heaphones is different from the connector that you used. I had this kind of issue. What you can do is use a connector from a similiar heaphone (same model for example). Maybe even you soldered the wires in the wrong position thus making the speakers move in the worng direction (to solve that swap + and - in both sides). And could be the fact that you grounded it incorrectly and thus making some voltages jump where they werent supposed to go, or even you connector isnt compatible with your device (some audio jacks are shorter and some are longer).

    I use to do this in my engineering days. This requires soldering and most of the Earphones come along with the microphone , they might not get repaired by the same t.r.s. 3.5 mm jack he used .notice the no. Of rings in that 10 rs audio jack and the one that came along with earphone in this video.

    @sri balaji it depends on the equipments you are using, I used a broad tip soldering pencil, so it was quite difficult to solder on such small part. But in the end it works fine.I am sure you won't able to fix an earphone with microphone with the same 3.5 jack used in the video. The connection of microphone ones is different.
