How to repair discolored and scratched atv plastics
Спорт
Using a heat gun will restore you atv's plastic. After wards, put a little Armor All on your plastics too.
FYI - I tried this on my Can Am Outlander Plastics, it didn't work.

Pretty impressive. Great before and after shots! I would have never thought a heat gun could be so effective. I'd be afraid of melting through the entire fender. thanks for the video.
Great video! Every blue Yamaha I've owned (3) gets those white swirls every time I wash them if its below 80 degrees. I've gotten good at getting scuff marks and old dirt off but not so much the discoloration. Well done and thanks for posting (even it was a few years ago).
Well I gotta say man it worked went over it a couple times and sure enough it made the difference thank you

Good deal!!!
thanks for putting this video up, it really helped. we have been looking for ways to get our plastics to look better, keep up the great work
Awesome I'm gonna go get started on my ttr great video
Done this for years on my Yamaha's stress marks. Also have used Plastic Renew to keep it looking new.
looks brand new, I'm definately gonna try it
nice trick! but damn that heat gun is a relic! :P
car polish works well on quad plastics a lot better than you'd think
Nice work!
I can't believe anyone would give this video a thumbs down!

Its because they like it so much they flipped their phone and liked it agian
Excellent. Save several 100s. To put put into motor or suspension
I have deep road rash scratches on mine...if I sand down the rough spots first then do heat treatment do you think it will work? Are you basically just melting it a little to. remove scratches then buffing it with plastic cleaner? Thanks
Thanks, will give it a shot on my YZ plastics..
nice quad bro
Can you suggest a site to assist in putting plastics back on a 03 660 Raptor
@factoryXperimental Did you try it? Did it work? I'm curious and want to do it to my YZ as well.
Yeah, I borrowed that one in the film. I've upgraded to a newer now!!!
THANK YOU! I need to do this to my 2019 raptor 700. It hurts seeing her all fucked up. New headlight and fender bracket otw too..wreaks sucks.

SiNvegas 702 dude tell me about it yesterday I flipped my 2020 doing a drift I feel like crying see her in the shape she is in right now
Can you tell me how long did it last for, thank you
That looks like a hair dryer on steroids.
@MACd150 When I tried the heat gun on my Can-Am plastics, it did not work. My can-am is red too. So I don't know about your dirt bike. All I can say is try a small spot and see.
@lelxh03 It doesn't take long. You'll see the results fairly quickly
Dangerous heat gun sounds like a polaris trying to start

What about if you have a sticker and when you take the sticker off it looks like the fender is burnt but under the sticker it looks really clean

Sand paper use high grit like 1500
Wow, it works
@lelxh03 What color are you plastics?
@lelxh03 Make sure its a heat gun and not a hair dryer
Will this work on red dirt bike plastics? Also does it change the color of the plastics at all?
@ATVCrashDummies it didnt work on my raptor 250 may be my heat gun is different
@magnem77 Some people say it helps to remove scratches, it did on my but only very faint scratches. I would try it on an area that is inconspicuous.

doing this makes the plastics a lot more brittle and almost glass like over time
just a heat gun? for how long do u do it? raptor is awesome
Probably try this on my 03 Yamaha Kodiak have few white stress marks on there.
OMG awesome
Actually i wonder how the results would be if you tryied the heat gun from the back of the plastic. Because it leaves slightly dull finish When placed directly on the front of the plastics.
Would it work with a hair dryer I don't own a heat gun

Thats all just heat them up some. ? No buffing nothing ?

Wow it was a long time ago. Maybe 1-2 mins. It’s easy to melt the plastic. You don’t want to put it too close
"Plastic renew"???Whats that?? And doesnt the heatgun treatment, dull the plastic??

Weird question, but where does the gasoline go in that contraption?
@Zoom-ui2pf
7 жыл бұрын
joshracer22 it goes in the tail pipe then start it and hold the gas down for as long as you can until it stops then it should be at optimum running temperature.
Dude i used a hair dryer, it worked :D but the big scratches are still there
