How to repair discolored and scratched atv plastics

Спорт

Using a heat gun will restore you atv's plastic. After wards, put a little Armor All on your plastics too.
FYI - I tried this on my Can Am Outlander Plastics, it didn't work.

Pretty impressive. Great before and after shots! I would have never thought a heat gun could be so effective. I'd be afraid of melting through the entire fender. thanks for the video.

Great video! Every blue Yamaha I've owned (3) gets those white swirls every time I wash them if its below 80 degrees. I've gotten good at getting scuff marks and old dirt off but not so much the discoloration. Well done and thanks for posting (even it was a few years ago).

I have deep road rash scratches on mine...if I sand down the rough spots first then do heat treatment do you think it will work? Are you basically just melting it a little to. remove scratches then buffing it with plastic cleaner? Thanks

@magnem77 Some people say it helps to remove scratches, it did on my but only very faint scratches. I would try it on an area that is inconspicuous.

Actually i wonder how the results would be if you tryied the heat gun from the back of the plastic. Because it leaves slightly dull finish When placed directly on the front of the plastics.

joshracer22 it goes in the tail pipe then start it and hold the gas down for as long as you can until it stops then it should be at optimum running temperature.
