Very useful video. One filming technique - draw a box to show the area that your camera uses. Then make sure you don't move cables or tools outside the box. (Some footage is missing because the cable being repaired was not in frame.)

It's video's like this that are genuenly educational. I have always wondered how these things are built and how they can be taken apart safely. I would also like to give some points of improvement for future repairs. In the video you pulled the metal part of the connector off using pliers, I truly love that you explained that you have to be careful with the plier ridges, because this is very important advice. The thing you should also pay attention on there, is to pull the connector up slowly and evenly. It is friction fit in with two metal studs that stick into the plastic, maybe even melted in or combined with some glue to keep it in well, but in the video you pulled it off one side first, causing one of the studs to snap off, and the other one to get bent, which in the end caused difficulties sliding it back in and also resulted in the metal part being not perfectly straight in the finished product. The cable's breakpoint was pretty clear after taking it apart, I suggest making it stronger than it was from the factory to make sure that same breakpoint doesn't fail again, since it has been modified and is thus not as strong as it was brand new, I don't think the glue will hold it in well, so there should be a better solution to secure it in place. I think you pushed the rubber extension a bit too far back in when glueing it back and it may be better to apply the glue on the inside before putting the cable in so you don't have to stretch the rubber with a pin because that causes a bit of permanent deformation. Overall, it's a genuenly amazing video, and one charger less ends up as electronic waste for no reason. These chargers are as expensive as the MacBooks themselves from when they were new, so it's absolutely worth it to get one that's broken anyways repaired. Thanks a lot!

Good to se what and how is installed inside. Superglue will not hold it properly for more than a while, better idea would be to reuse metal ring. Another thing is thelescopic pins; once superglue penetrates there the effect will be quite obvious.

hi.thanks for your comment! while applying the supper glue, always be very careful not to apply it to the pins. and the glue dries in less than 10minutes! i have repaired countless cables using supper glue and I'm yet to see or hear of any which has fallen apart....months later! Supper glue works, try it! Also watch this and other videos in the channel. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nq5kqJuoo6yrndI.html

If the connector tip is turning around - it's broken cable. Exactly what i was looking for confirmation. Thanks.

The metallic contact on the connector can be glued onto the connector. As you've seen in the video, super glue works just fine! Subscribe to the channel too!
