It was called Skiving and sectioning a tire when I worked for OK tire years and years ago.

This is without a doubt the most over-complicated process I've ever seen.

yeah after you see the price for one of those you will turn right around to get it repaired for a new 54X21X24 its is over $7K (im not saying thats this tire size this one is much bigger)

What's the cost for this type of repair verses just replacing the tire with a new one?...with that much labor involved to repair it...it can't be very cost effective?

Sure, if you're working on a 100 tire. What about a thousand dollar tire, or a four thousand dollar tire. How about tires that cost 10 or 15 or 20 thousand dollars each, or more.... Ever shoe a large cat? I'm guessing not.....

yea i agree this looks like the 80's or so ..but now we use way different repair method especially on OTR tires ..it all looks terrible to me too but that was the method back then i guess ...
