This is truly the Best and easiest way to remove labels for keeping!!! So glad you put this information out there. I never had heard of this and it works so easily. I just took the labels from 8 wine bottles and it worked perfectly. No blemishes or curled labels. Thanks so much.

Worked perfectly. I used an anova precision oven (countertop combi-steam oven) and put the humidity at 60% and put the bottle into the oven at around 260F. After 15 minutes at 350F, when I opened the oven door, the 2 smaller labels were already off in the oven and the large front label just popped off upon touching it, no scraping needed at all! Thank you!!!

LOVE this!! I've been soaking a bottle of Tokaji for 6 days now. The label is bloated but still stuck fast. Hopefuly it'll dry and I can salvage. If not, hopefully it'll be the last time I spend days waiting for the 50% chance it'll be one of the ones that will come off

Great i put mine in the microwave for 1 min(cork open) opened the door then closed it again and followed by 1 min. It came out easily.

This method works like a charm. I design my own labels and have them printed, so they're a bit tougher to remove, but the oven method is great. However, does anyone out there know how many times you can do this to your wine bottles before they become unstable and unusable? Or does subjecting them to this heat method over and over make any difference to the life span of the bottle ?

Is that for foil or paper type labels?

How long did you bake it?

I tried this method and in no time I took the labels off of 120 bottles. Thank you! Some had no residue afterwards, label just fell off.

I did this and it worked remarkably well. Getting the foil off was the worse part. Any ideas for that?

First, be careful. Take a thin kitchen knife and hammer. Starting from the top, place the tip of the knife between the bottle and the foil. Take a hammer and tap the butt of the knife. Wiggle if needed. Be sure to find a way to stabilize the bottle beforehand without using any parts of your body.

A suggestion to stabilise the bottle is to support it in a bucket of sand. I hope it helps.

I use a box cutter and slice from the bottom up; one smooth slice. Be careful because that rim can cut you! Also try to get up to at least some of the area where the cap screws in so you can easily tear that piece open..

Don't we have to add a bowl of water into the oven?

This is not working for me. Am I doing something wrong?

My wine bottle is sitting in the sink in hot water as we speak. I was sitting here thinking that there has to be a better way. Now my oven is on and about to try it out! (I’m doing it to make a rolling pin)

You can pour hot water to the bottle and it comes out even faster

How in the oven at 350? 15 minutes? Can you do any bottle in the oven without it breaking?

I left my bottles in for about 7 minutes. I put them in a tray to make it easy to lift them in an out.

is that fahrenheit or celcious? and for how many minutes?

I actually threw the bottle into my deep fryer and in 30 seconds, “wallah” the label dissolved right off. Thanks for the tip!

Except it destroys the wine by putting it in the oven so why would anyone want to do this?

Pro tip. If you have difficulty removing glue from the bottle put a small tablespoon of creamy peanut butter into the microwave for 30 seconds. Use a papertowel and smooth the peanut butter onto the sticky bottle. The peanut butter will dissolve the adhesive. Now just wash with dish soap.
