How to Remove Water Spots and Calcium/Lime Deposits Audi Q7

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is a clients daily driver that was left in a parking garage in NYC. It's common for the lime/calcium deposits to fall from the ceiling and cause issues on the paint if left untreated for long periods of time. Hope this gives you and idea of what "type of chemical" can help remove or loosen the contaminants or water spots. (FYI: I used a directional microphone instead of my normal mic because I wanted to pic up the "texture sound" of the calcium or lime deposits.) Thx for watching! -L

I used a directional mic so I apologize for less than ideal sound. Also, I did not scratch the paint during this process (which would be "acceptable" because of its horrible condition). The "scratchy" sound is the deposits on top of the other deposits. However, if you do scratch the paint, which is to be expected, just compound/polish that area afterwards. It depends on how hard/soft the paint is beforehand. Hope this give you an idea about pH/acidic/basic knowledge for detailing. Thank you! -L

Windu I’ve detailed my whole life. Even on the side. Nothing ever made me feel so fulfilled my friend. I just went through Thyroid Cancer and think the chemicals might have caused it? I dunno. My point is make sure you wear gloves as he does. Make sure you understand the chemicals you are using like he does. He knows his stuff. Good luck and glove up.

The lime ( lemon) method that someone mentioned on here is cheap, highly effective and won’t damage your paint. It is best to move on it as soon as possible. Underground garage parking Is a major problem especially in older buildings and where the owners don’t seem much to care.

I had the same spots on my new TT. 6 Stains in total like on the side of the Q7. Just watched the vid, but cleaned my car last weekend. Mine were not as mineralised as on the Q7. I washed the car (total package :foam, high pressure, per hand). Then I started trying to remove it with clay. It reduced a bit but not a lot. Then I took a slight abrasive polish, and polished per hand for more senstivity. Took me hours for the 6 stains. What a pain. Took it down "layer" per "layer" until it was perfect again. I suppose vinegar is not an option? Your videos on this channel and after/drive thaught me a lot. Thanks for that mate. Very educational ! And yeah cleaning a car kind of gives you that special relation to it (Stingray Vid). And you know all the spots, every imperfection. It's quite intimate haha.

I have a vehicle that has sat under a sprinkler for years... i have try'd vinegar, ducky water spot remover and also the extreme version of the product. i have also had some luck with rubbing compound and very very fine steal wool. i have had very little luck but i dont think i should be trusted with acidic chemicals. have you attempted to use steam, would you recomend it. maybe i should use the extreme water spot remover and my steamer being shipped?

Larry Kosilla Hey Larry, any update on this product and the leveling fluids from the e39 video from a while ago? Any good alternatives if not coming to production? My car has a bit of waterspots from sitting in the sun after the morning dew, even before I wake up for work. It sucks. I was looking at Meguiars Waterspot remover, but it looks more like a polish than an acidic solution, might work though. I was also thinking a light vinegar wash, I want to get it out before trying a DA correction. Any tips would help!

My car just got COVERED by industrial lime. They dropped a truckload of it near the medical building I was in, and when I came out it was covered. The company send a guy to pressure wash the car. DIdn't do a thing, except the surface is now gritty and grey. (It's a black car). Whatshould I require them to do to repair it? The windows appear to be scored as well.

Love your videos and products. Have you ever done a video on detailing /cleaning/waxing along trim or around door handles etc? I hate when you look close and see stuff you just can't get, well unless you pull all the trim, handles etc. Thanks for any tips.

Could you use steel wool as opposed to a razor blade on the window? obviously not at the edges though.

In Washington State they spray an ice melter on the highways in the winter. Nasty stuff! I am told the white sticky spots on my aluminum wheels are calcium deposits. Please tell me what I can try!!!

Larry. How can a person tell if you need to claybar the front of a car? The car is only about 7 years old and has low miles. The front is still able to be polished but it feels a little rough. Thanks for your imput.

Very interesting as always, but damn, I really wonder how long it took for this car to become so messed up by a dripping ceiling.

It's time consuming though not only that but if the blade is tilted the slightest it will leave line scratch in the glass.

Like an arial attack warning siren, usually tested at noon so people will know it's just a test. This is common in both America and Europe as far as I know.
