How to remove the rear wheel of a Triumph Street Triple motorcycle
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This video goes through the steps on how to remove the rear wheel of a Triumph Street Triple, but is applicable to most motorcycles. I am working on a 2019 Triumph Street Triple 765 R, but it works the same / very similar for the RS models, the 675 models, and even the newer 2021 street triples. In fact, most bikes with double-sided swing-arms (Yamaha R6, Honda CBR, KTM, etc) works the same way. Loosen a nut, pull out the axle, get the brake and chain out of the way, and pull out the wheel. There will be some tools and torque spec differences (please check the maintenance manual), but as long as you keep track of where all the parts goes, this video should get you through any double-sided swing-arm rear wheel removal.
Things I've learned along the process:
1. Remove the plastic insert in the spindle before hammer time or use the locknut as a surface for hammering.
2. Take out the LH chain adjuster block so the spindle is loose so it can come out easier.
3. Don't use a torque wrench as a breaker bar.
4. Remove the wheel spacers on either sides before you bring it to the shop in case it gets lost.
5. Usually the process is easier if you loosen the chain adjuster bolts first

Oops, I wrote "Rear Tire Removal" in the title screen. It should be rear wheel instead.
Thank you for posting this. I used this vid as a directional on how to remove my tire. Used your other video to reinstall. Thanks again!

Glad to be of use!
No need to hammer the spindle if you pop out the chain adjuster, then you can hold the wheel with one hand and take te spindle out with the other

Thanks, will definitely need to revisit this next time I go through the process again...

No problem! hopefully it made your removal easier.
Yes if you loosen off the chain adjusters there's no need to resort to the hammer, otherwise very I'm formative 😊
How is the rear caliper attached to the bike? we did not see you remove the typical hex bolts (like the front has) Can you expand?

If you look closely around 2:15, when I pull the spindle out, the rear caliper becomes loose. The brake caliper is held in place by the spindle and a pin that slots into the swing arm, and is tightened in place when the nut is screwed onto the spindle. You can see the configuration of the rear brake caliper clearly if you pause at 3:42. Hope this helps!

Actually I realize that I show how the brake caliper is attached to the bike in my other video on installing the rear wheel around the 1:52 mark.
