You're a life saver!! I can't drive under 80, I only wear a seatbelt on the highway, my music is always loud. I stumbled onto MyKey while jumping another outfit, playing with the settings on my new truck and thought I was going to have to trade it in. Two other uTubers said you can't fix this without buying yet another key. Thank you for the clear, concise, and most of all to the point video!

Completely forgot about the cluster menu. Been searching over an hour on the actual radio. You’re awesome, my friend.

Just bought a used 2017 XLT. It came with 1 key - yep, setup as "my key" limited access. Just came back from the local locksmith, got two brand new Ford "Admin" keys. Got home, watched this video and cleared the original key BS. Three fully functional keys now.

Easy to do with an admin key. Need to see how to do it when your admin key was accidentally turned into a mykey and no longer functions as an admin key.

Well I believe most Ford’s come with two keys From the dealership.. if you have programmed all your keys to the mykey feature.. you probably need to get another new key or take a trip to the dealership and have them bypass the program and erase stored keys .. hopefully that helps ya!!

@@jesusacosta2011 Thanks - I saw that one too. I don't have keyless start so it doesn't work. I tried covering FOB with tin foil to mimic the key's departure from the vehicle but it didn't work. I'm going to have to just pay the dealership to fix it.

@@jesusacosta2011 I tried that as well already. Connect to the truck fine and run through all the steps, but still doesn't work. At least with the connection I was able to disable most of the "features" so now only the 80mph speed limiter is still on. Luckily I live in Hawaii where there aren't many roads that you can go on that fast. Let me know if you get it to work and what you did.

You are a BLESSING!!!! Your video was the only one I found that actually focussed on the my key settings! Our dog actually ate my master key- and i was trying to figure this out - because my other TWO keys were set with limits for our kids!! I was able to find the master key “inner parts” and put the batteries in it - And followed your instructions - Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Solid work! Fixed my issue in minutes. The primary key was so warn & old looking, so I wanted to start using my secondary key. I didnt know what the problem was, but suddenly the music volume was limited. This video helped me quickly solve the issue the next day. Thanks!

Thanks for your find ! I changed to another key on my F150 & was going crazy about how my speedometer was governed & music restrictions w/o a seatbelt being fastened...Will go back to my other key & get rid of this nonsense by clearing these settings out .!!

I found out a easier way if it’s cut times instead of watching a tutorial your main key which has a chip in it if it’s program to my key then whenever you use that key your speed will be restricted however if you have a spare key without a chip you should be fine just found this out today to save time

You can also start the vehicle,roll down the driver window,turn off the vehicle and hold the key out the window fast and restart it..

Hi, does this procedure require 2 original keys to clear mykeys or any 2 keys will work? In my situation the original key is mykey and the non-original is free.

Which ever key that hasn’t been recognized by the my key system will work. You will know which key works by it allowing you to access the my key menu on the center display. If they both are recognized by the my key system. Then unfortunately a trip to the dealership will be necessary

in order to gain access to the my key menu..you can use any other the other keys provided with the car.. ford always gives 2 keys..so unfortunately it looks like you will need to purchase another key to do this ..so one you would give to your" teen driver "and then the parents would keep the other key (that hasn't been stored in the my key program)..

all I can say is the administrator key is just any other key you have that came with your vehicle, (you get 2 keys ) hopefully you didn't program into the "my key" system ..in the video im generally referring to fords 2019 and newer .. so if u dont see nothing in any of the menus stating "my key" then your vehicle may not have that feature.

I just bought a f150 2015 from the auction the flip key does not turn on the truck put it also came with a copy key that does turn on the truck put it pops the check engine light on and it only lets me go up to 75 mph when I hit the gas to go faster the truck only starts to kind of shake but does not go any faster would this be the problem that the truck has been programmed to not run no more than 75 mph ? Well the check engine light is a separate issue that should be looked at with an obd2 scanner read any fault codes that are present. If the key doesn’t start the truck then it’s probably not programmed with the truck ,that’s usually a $75 job to sync key to the truck . Now the (my key) is software that has a menu in the center dash display that limits speed, music volume as like a teen driver mode. Once you program the my key to recognize the key inserted in the ignition at that moment. The vehicle will then limit those things mentioned above . Hope this helps you

never hurts to give it a try.. just make sure its a key that’s not been programmed into the my key system.. (aka spare key or a new key from the dealership)

yes ,it should work if its a ford factory made key .. so any other key you have thats not been used or programmed into the my key system will allow full access to the my key menu ,so you can then delete all keys currently being stored in the system.

My key is a user friendly program that someone can easily use and set up or delete as necessary .. What you’re talking about involves an ecu reprogramming .. which is typically reserved for performance , sports cars etc But u can certainly search online and see if anyone does an ecu programming for your Ford Escape.. I’m totally clueless if they do 🤷🏼‍♂️

ATTENTION PEOPLE If you’re like me, I had both key fobs, however my spare key fob didn’t have the actual key part to put in ignition. I fixed this by tearing the mother board out of the key I locked out, then taking the ignition key part and took the other fob with me in the truck. There fire leaving the locked out mother board in the house. Then started truck and cleared the my keys.

How does it get activated in the first place?

okay so ive looked at thousands of videos to try to find this but my 2010 ford escaps dash does not look like this how am i supposed to get rid of the mykey if i dont have that scren in the first place

Im not exactly sure about the screen or menu options. But for starters. Make sure ur using a key thats not already programmed. Most fords come with 2 keys. So any key thats not programmed into the my key system will allow u access to a menu delete/ add keys. You would have to investigate/ try different keys to seen if anything different pops up on ur dash display.. but if u have the money ford dealer can reset the system for u $$$ .. hope this helps 🤞

I have a 2011 f150 Harley davidson. Original remote key broke. Bought a universal one. As soon as I programmed new one. It engaged mykey. Watched 20 videos on how to take off. Well I don't have a setting for mykey under settings. It has its own setting. Can't clear it or disengage it. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately in my opinion I would say, just go to the dealership and purchase an original ford key/ remote and have them properly program it into the system.. ebay/ amazon/ online purchased remotes and keys generally don’t work well with oem equipment..

You need another key that is not already programmed into the my key system . If u have just one key and you can’t access the my key menu in the dash. That key is already programmed and can’t be used to deactivate the my key system. U will need a new key or a trip to the dealership to reprogram the system

Yeah the administration key is actually just (any other key 🔑 u have for ur car) . That is not currently been programmed into my key system.. if all the keys u have for ur car is somehow programmed into the Mikey system. A trip to the Ford dealership is the next step ..

well kind of . because the system was designed so that the teen driver key 🔑 wouldn’t be able to override the parents limiter.. i believe your next option is to visit your local the ford dealership. they can rest the system for a price or buy another key. its all going to cost 💵😬

If it’s not allowing you to access the my key menu . The key you’re using is already programmed into the my key system . So u have to get another key or head over to ur local ford dealer for a computer reset..

I have one key that I set up as a my key with limits and the other key I will get from the dealer this week. right now however I only have that one my key and it’s frustrating because I have to drive the limits. Yeah its any other key thats not program to the my key system.. so when you get your new key from the dealership. Use that key to start up the car and go thru the dash menu to remove all keys from the my keys log.

The my key system is designed to limit the volume and speed of your teen driver to a predetermined level.. if you’re using a key that is currently activated in the my key system you will not have access to the settings..

2011 models go through settings

What if you only have 1 key and you accidentally set it to mykey.

the key that’s been programmed into the my key system will be restricted to the limits set by the program features.. and u become locked out of the my key settings menu .. so any other available key you have, that’s not been programmed into my key , will allow you to access the my key menu options,

you didn’t say what model or what year you have .. this video usually applies for fords 2019 and newer.. if you don’t see any my key program in the menu your vehicle may not have the feature. 🤷🏼‍♂️ best i can tell you

Well, you can purchase a new key. Or have them at ford service go into to computer system and reset the my key setting.. but that can be kinda pricey unfortunately.. i hope that helps

im not sure about anything before 2018 models. but never hurts to give it a try. just make sure to use any other key 🔑 you have available for your ford ,thats not recognize by the my key system..

Well any other key that came with your car (they usually have 2 keys ) that hasn’t been added to the my key program is the administrator key... if you have programmed all the keys for your car to the my key feature. Only options I could think , is u need to purchase another key( expensive) or have a ford technician hook the car up to the computer.. which may not be as expensive..

Thats fine because u must use any other key you have to access the my key menu .. the key you already have programmed ,put in the ignition will not allow you to access the my key menu.

My 2014 truck was fine till I found this BS, turned off the speed limiter and volumn, it did just the opposite now I can't reverse it, only have 1 adm key

#1 .this video is for 2019 and newer fords f150.. #2. the administrator key is actually any other key that came with the your ford that has (NOT) already been programmed into the my key system 3. there is no way to access the my key reset menu with a key that has already been programmed into the my key system . if you have ,then u mostly likely just programmed the “administrative” key into the my key system. now all the keys u have are limited. a trip to the dealership is ur only option …for them to reset the system or u purchase a new key 🔑..

Yes. You received two keys with the purchase of your Ford . So any key that’s not programmed into the my key system is identified as the administrator key. And will alway access to the my key menu thus allowing deletion of teen driver limits

I’m not 100% sure. But if never hurt to try and see if it does. It’s just the use of the any other key that hasn’t been programmed into the my key system. That allows u to erase the already programmed key

I need to get my hands on the admin key to remove this stupid limiter my boss limited the company truck speed limit to 62mph knowing we constantly drive on a highway that the limit is 75mph so we're a Hazzard and he also limited our radio volume to 10 so it's torchure
