NOTE: Since January 2024, all Messenger conversations have been automatically encrypted by default. This means deleting a conversation just deletes chat messages from the chat list but you can't remove or disable end-to-end encryption from Messenger starting in 2024.

Texting my girlfriend and now it shows up unable to message on messenger and end-to-end encrypted how do you turn this crap off

This makes no sense... literally only 'one' of my contacts have this enabled on my device. None of my other contacts have this end to end encryption activated.

I don't want to delete the conversation!!! I know this sounds overly-dramatic, but I would die if I lost my years of chats with my dear friend now that Messenger encrypted it without my permission. Everywhere I've googled says to do this, and to do that, and then to delete it! OMG! This is horrible!! 💔

This is very misleading - the heading is how to REMOVE ENCRYPTION but what this video actually shows is removing the (encrypted) chats instead - NOT the actual encryption!?? I don't want to delete my chats, I want to be able to send messages!! I have had almost all of my contacts encrypted & it wont even send my messages now & i'm not receiving any from those contacts either - it is a ridiculous 'protection' that completely stuffs up messenger. If it's not broken don't fix it!!

Remove end to end conversation

This makes me SO angry. Messenger put this on with no thought for how it effects people. Now I cant seen to send or receive a message unless I use some Pin, that I dont have, and no way to change the Pin unless you have a Pin. All instructions say to delete chat, why would I do that and look contact with the person who is helping me with an issue via messenger

If I turn off the low storage mode it is said there that it will automatically delete the conversation in 90 days, can you explain it further?

I hope this doesn’t mean I lost my contact it was helping me out with a very important legal situation. This is absolute garbage that no one knows about this until after it’s too late to do anything. Freaking Facebook

Bruh I was using the “Pin message” like crazy so I can go back and view important messages, now that shit is gone with more than half the people I used the pin for smh. So there goes hella information I needed 😭
