Hello, new subscriber here. I have been using a piece of chalk. I normally buy a box of chalk in any supermarket. Heat up the iron-box fully then take a piece of chalk and scrub it on the plate. It takes a minute or so even on a badly burnt iron box and wipe the iron box on a piece of cloth preferably a towel. And voila! You are done! I have used my iron box for 10 years because of that, No scratches on the plate!

Use a tablet or two of paracetamol when the iron box is hot/slightly hot(you know its heated when the tablet melts). Place a cloth/serviettes/tissue to avoid burns(remember the iron box is heated or is actually hot) on the tablet and rub it all over the desired area. Works immediately, no scratches and is clean as new. Try that.

When you are super mom super busy it can happen. Even worse. Paracetamol works really well. However those steam irons have outlets for steam that can seem clogged. I read somewhere that after a clean with paracetamol it will most probably block those outlets so pour ACV instead of water and try to iron with it. Then when they are clog free pour remaining ACV out and use water to clean that ACV out. Haven't done this coz unlike you I hate laundry so I try so much to avoid that section of our home.

Removing stains from your iron shouldn't be such a hassle as your videos states. The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser worked wonders on my expensive Rowenta iron, leaving it scratch-free unlike when using a Brillo pad, and without any leftover caulk residue on the iron plate like with baking soda and vinegar. The Magic Eraser is undoubtedly the best solution. It's always advisable to use distilled water in your iron.

With paracetamol, the iron has to be warm. You may also try ketchup alongside vinegar and baking soda.

I normally use toothpaste as panadol smell unplesant, but the two are my go method all the time, all you need is your iron box to be hot while scrubbing. Just plug it on max mode when it hot enough unplug it put your toothpaste on its surface(it mighty try to pop out hurry scrubbing) then use a wet towel (thick so u dont get burn) do the scrubbing Repeat the process till all is clean
