In this video I will be demonstrating how to remove box braids properly. Taking out braids can cause breakage but I will show you how to remove your box braids without/minimum breakage. This video focuses on taking out braids with extensions.
Products needed:
* hair ties
* spray bottle
* water
* leave-in conditioner
* scissors
* detangling brush
This is the leave-in conditioner that I used.
I have tried other conditioners but this one works best.

You are a genius! The tips that you gave in the first 5 minutes were more helpful than I've learned in a lifetime! I have been wearing braids for at least 40 years and I was never aware the importance of moisturing during the take down. It makes sooooo much sense. Thank You for your much needed video. I have the same hair it is so cute
Okay so first I wanna say thank you. I had actually just got my braids done a few days ago and I’ve a migraine since so I don’t think they were done properly.
very helpful
wish I watched this that last time I took my braids down. I just unplaited them and shampooed and I had soooooooo much hair loss 😥 like a small furry pet I almost 😭 I was so confused thought I did the braids to protect my hair ... but now I know it was the take down. thanks for the info BUT I DISAGREE WITH THE COMBING/ BRUSHING bc you loss so much hair! as mush as I did last time, the wrong way! I will use my fingers and leave in conditioner/ oil to detangle that build up ar the roots of the hair that has clumped up. But I totally cosign that scalp scratch before shampooing! Yassss. 😌
Great Video 👏👏👏👏 very accurate professional advice!!
Thanks
thanks for the advice! i was someone who washed without combing! haha..
I used black oil coconut conditioner and aloe vera added water n it worked very good

Thank you for the video! I started combing my hair out after a take down about 3 years ago, and it was definitely easier! I do like the fact that you spray the braids and comb the out 1 by 1. I usually comb out by row, so I have to change it up and try your method. Thanks girl!

I have been trying to figure out my dandruff.. is scratching the scalp a really good way to get rid of it? I've never even considered using a fine tooth comb before..
Can I use regular conditioner?
What time of conditioner was used? Can it be any mixed in with water as well?!
For 4c natural hair shouldnt we twist hair rather than leaving it out
Your video was soo helpful! I took my braids down with ease thanks to your advice. It was soo easy to wash after as well. Thank you!!!

Thank you so much for this video. I have had my braids for only 3 weeks and Im already removing Them because my scalp itches so much I fell like I’m loosing my mind. Do you have any advice about itching scalp? Maybe I’m allergic? (If that’s possible?) I hope you can help me, because I really do love braids Thank you Best wishes from Denmark 🇩🇰

If you haven’t taken your braids out yet try an apple cider vinegar rinse on your braids and scalp. It will help restore the ph balance of the synthetic hair to stop the itching. It’s a real life saver, good luck.
Please what is in the spray bottle

Dead skin cells = dandruff. Right?

Correct
@iateyursandwiches

Technicallly no...that's just flakes[of dead skin cells]. Dandruff is specifically when a fungal infection(mallessezia) is occuring and it creates greasy clumps of film on your scalp as thw fungal waste mixes with dead skin cells. - a Medical professional
Not to be rude but you can keep your braids in for more then JUST 8weeks. For some ppl, like me, I keep my box braids in for 3, 4 Sometimes 5 months. As long as you know your own hair, you will have no problems.

You hair doesnt break/gain split ends and you retain almost 5 months of length? Well, glad your hair can take that if its true... You may have thick strands.

Is it disrespectful to black women for a white girl to have box braids?
@QueenofBraids

I think it depends on the individual you are asking. I don't see anything wrong with any non black race wearing braids. I believe we all tend to mimic one another in some form. BUT that is MY opinion. I can't speak for anyone else.
