Save the photo in .png format instead of .jpeg

First unlock the layer (double click the lock icon in the layer tab) and then use magic wand tool so when you press delete, it deletes only the background.

Save it as .psd format , so that when you open that file next time your editing will be saved and you can directly add logo whenever you need it.

Error will be smart object is not directly editable instead of available and if i am guessing it right then you need to do the following :- Right click on the layer and select Rasterize layer over there . This should solve the error ! Let me know if the error was solved or not!

You can do this as well, right click inside of the selection and then select option "layer via cut" and then hide the newly created layer 😊

This might be not the exact error. But from the error you have commented I have got an idea of the problem ,so you can try these 2 solutions .1:- Unlock the layer by double clicking on the lock icon which will be beside the name of the layer and if it's unlocked and you are still getting the error then right click on the layer and select Rasterize layer over there .So try these solutions and if you are still getting the error then please give me the exact error

You can tell me the step in comment plzzzzz
