This is absolutely awesome! I shot a wedding service over the weekend, the venue was surrounded by water fountains. The officiant's voice was covered with this horrible background noise. You just saved my job with this tutorial. Thanks Mike!

Hi, that wouldn't be background noise unfortunately so it's highly unlikely you'd be able to remove that without degrading the audio quality.

Hi Mike, really like your tutorials! would you suggest loading a clip into Descript for normalizing audio to -14LUFS instead of doing this in Adobe Premier?

Hey Mike I was wondering if you can help me out here I film mostly on the beach and my subject wears a lav with a dead cat. I DeNoise it, High Pass Filter it, and Parametric EQ it. I still hear robotic wave sounds in the background pretty loudly too. Am I missing something? Is there a way to get rid of essentially all noise that isn’t dialogue?

All noise reduction will impact the quality of the audio, you may find that to achieve anywhere near what you're trying you're left with dialogue that's unusable I'm afraid.

Hi Mike! Would you please, show us in your tutorials, how to remove static noise from audio, its like when microphone or cords are misplaced, they make that horrible static bizzing sound, which is hard to remove.

The audio I'm currently trying to fix is terrible. I was doing 'talking heads' at a party. There is so much loud background noise. Descript is amazing! It didn't get rid of everything(obviously), but enough where if I add some natural background noise and music, I can finally make out what the talking heads are saying. Thank you!

Hi Mike, I came across your video on Premiere Pro and thanks for the tip. I wanted to ask your thoughths on what the best overall settings would be required in order to restore quality to old VHS recording. I have transferred the video over to Digital and have them as MP4 files. I am now wanting to enhance the quality and remove some (denoise) of the video and also help improve the overall sound. What would your thoughts be on this and the best go to settings to apply to the video to make it better? Thanks for your time.

Hi there! For enhancing the quality of old VHS recordings in Premiere Pro, I recommend using the denoising effect to reduce noise, applying the sharpening effect to improve clarity, adjusting the color correction to enhance colors, and using the audio effects to clean up and enhance the sound quality. Experiment with these settings to find the best results for your specific footage. Happy editing!

why don't I have the Audio worspace option? In fact your entire top bar is missing for me with "Learning", "Assembly" etc. I don't have any of that. edit: I was able to access it via Window -> Workspaces -> Audio.

Best practice is to record in a quiet and acoustically treated area, all noise reduction will impact the final quality of the audio.

I currently primarily use Adobe Audition for audio editing, but using Descript alongside Premiere Pro can offer additional features and flexibility for certain projects.

Did you use a windsock on the microphone when recording? Is the wind noise overpowering the audio? These are all factors you have to consider when attempting to reduce it.
