    Hi Martin, been trying to figure out my 02 gc 4.7. I bought this hoping for a easy repair. Found a rocker arm off no1 cylinder. Doesn’t appear to have caused any damage at all. I put in a new lifter and went to put in the rocker arm and it basically just goes on with my fingers. What do you think is wrong

  • @martinbuilt

    @martinbuilt

    Жыл бұрын

    Unfortunately you have a dropped valve seat that is holding the valve down you're gonna need to pull the head and replace the cylinder head or have it repaired. Or you may get lucky and you gotta broken valve Spring but you probably would have noticed that when you were installing the rocker.

    Sounds like a mechanic shop that wants to make a lot of money. I doubt you need a new engine. I doubt you need a new engine. There are many things that could cause the engine to shake like that. For instance, the harmonic balancer, Once one of those goes bad, you'll cause the engine to shake violently. I would try to find yourself a reliable mechanic.

    The best way would be to use a parts washing tank, but if you don't have one of them, get yourself some Break parts cleaner or totally awesome cleaner and spray wherever the shavings are hopefully you don't have too much around the valve seats in the intake and exhaust ports. Also compressed air could also do a good job removing those shavings. Thank you for watching.
