Hi! I have a 2007 bmw z4.. was only going to add spare key but my locksmith for some reason ruined my ecu. Now the car won't even start. If i buy used ecu complete set with immobilizer and key, how can i install that? Thanks!

What does it mean when BMW Service say the BMW 320D ECU has been upgraded? Does it mean the ECU was replaced or the software (???) only was replaced by the latest version?

My 2009 BMW 535i was running fine except for the low oil pressure warning light. It didn't start after replacing the ECM with one I bought on eBay. I took it out and now my car won't start even with it's original ECM. Do you have any videos of how to correct this issue? Any advice?

I have a 08 535i it needs a new computer and key inable to start the car. How can I find this part number, so I can buy the correct one?

I'm pretty sure you have to, and also wait 20 mins after unplugging battery just in case

I removed the cover and there’s only relays, where is the ecu located on a e93?cant find it.

romeo manuel Crankshaft sensor it probably has a SES light (check engine light) on

Is it a plug and play ? Like you don’t have to program it

Milan Horvath Yes anytime you swap out the ECU on any car you need to reprogram it so it can re learn

My DME is damaged. My car is 2005 e90. If I get a 2009 e90 DME with the key, do I still need it programmed??

As long as you get the DME, CAS, and Key it should start and run. You can't just get 1 or 2 of the 3. The only issue is that your mileage and other non essential things will be wrong. To get 100% back to stock you'll need someone to reprogram it.

What kinds of things would prompt me to change my ECU....im asking because my car has been acting funny and i think it may be the ecu...the wipers keep going and wont stop the abs turns on amd off then i set it to DTC and it turns on and off. This startred happening after i used my scanning tool to reset my check engine light .....would that be the cause ?

check the drain in the ecu compartment. it's probably filled with water and burned the ecu.

Pretty sure it's inside the transmission with the valve body (known as mechatronics)

One of my coil not getting any power you think it’s the ecu and they all new coils

Yup. I just left bmw today. I have a p0306 code that won't go away and the car runs like shit. They told me no power was coming from dme but coil had good spark

Can somebody please help me my 2011 335is is acting weird it won't start it turns over and when it does come on it idles like crazy up and down and these codes come up and then it shuts off I thought I could fix the problem by replacing the crankshaft positioning sensor still did not fix the problem

hey man i had this same issue , water could have got into your ecu , you could clean the ecu with electrical cleaner

WHY THE HELL DONT YOU TELL THE PEOPLE YOU NEED TO REPROGRAM THE ECU BEFORE YOU SWAP OUT THE FAULTY ONE !!!!!!

Can you please help me! My bmw 318i e90 2007 starts but won't turn on. With obd scanner it says anti theft..... Is it something in this box like you showed in the video?

First, please understand, if you call an ECU "this box", don't make your own assumptions... Now, when that's out of the way, if there is an error indicating a problem with "anti theft", then your problem will never be in the ECU (DME). Your problem probably lies within CAS or EWS. One thing you can try, if you have a laptop, obd cable and INPA installed, is to re-syncronise EWS with DME. Google it, it's fast and easy.

Ecu needs to be programed to your new motor

The lid is hard to remove. You left out that part.
