How to Remove a Shrub or Small Tree Like a Pro, Roots and All
We are a local lawn and landscaping company based out of Freeburg IL. Family owned/operated and started from the ground up. My brother (Nic) and I (Alex) are doing our best to build a company we will be happy to work in. It has been an adventure and a struggle at times but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! We began our journey on youtube to document our company history and we would be happy to have you along for the ride! We have big dreams and have hardly scratched the surface of where we want to be.

Best method I've seen yet
That's not LIKE a pro, that's AS a pro....with professional equipment.

I’ll take that as a compliment 👍🏼
Dang...i miss landscaping! Every market is different....glad you guys found your niche calling!
Pipe wrench on the trunk and car jack underneath and poof! The fence post method.
Thank you, saved me hours of work.
Thank you for this video. I need to remove 4 small trees and an annoying misplanted shrub. I found this very useful and informative.

Glad to hear it! Hope it worked out!
Hey man how are you I always use a chain just like yours but I don’t use the hook because tends to move around and fell off use a chain chuckle So I replaced the hook for one of those I open up one of the chain linkage For the chuckle to be hooked So you don’t even have to go to the route beast you just walk around hook it when you pull the chain tied up the plan That’s just how I do it
Wow. That was fun to watch.

Gee. Wish I had an excavator.
Thank you, lesson learned. !

Glad it could help you!
You can take a farm jack and do it in no time with out the heavy machine. I’ve done trees and bushes this way.
Second question how do you charge pulling shurb by shrub
Disappointed that we didn't catch you at the GIE. Maybe next year 😉
One step that is missing..... Calling to have utility lines marked. Never assume "YOU KNOW" where they are. The famous last words before paying thousands to repair lines. It's a free service
We call that a choker chain.
Do you have any videos of how to fill the area ( when it’s close to the house ) after you have removed the bush

Just add soil and compact/ramp it as you fill it in. Would be best to let it get rained on and settle before reinstalling new landscape.
Put a thumb on that mini ex and no chain required! :)

Bingo!
HOw hard would that be to handle by hand with a shovel or something designed to do the work ?
@nickenslandscapingexcavating
7 ай бұрын
It’s possible but a tall task. You will need some sort of saw too
Would a carjack lift that up like we do when pulling up fence posts in cement?
@nickenslandscapingexcavating

Smaller ones yes. Not the bigger ones.
This will come handy..I will buy a chain, I do have a tractor

Is this safe if the roots are close to the house?
@nickenslandscapingexcavating
Жыл бұрын
Smaller shrubs yes. Large shrubs you need to be careful and always have the utilities located before digging.
Cost to pay someone to do it?
@nickenslandscapingexcavating
Жыл бұрын
We charge $100 per shrub
...hope that popping is not the waterline...
great, ill first need to get a excavator license, go hire an excavator and then I can pull my shrub out
@nickenslandscapingexcavating

Hey I said like a pro… You can do it without all that just going to take you 10x as long and you won’t get the root
If you have an excavator who needs a chain?
@nickenslandscapingexcavating

Haha, Sometimes the thumb just doesn’t get all of the roots. But you’re right most the time it will get it done
Step one, get an excavator

Can you rent an excavator? I’m new to this.
@Kin3sisCurt

@@carolinemiller2211 probably but for me this isn’t an option. I was looking for a “how to remove a tree when you only have a shovel” kind of video

Unfortunately with a shovel is just to much work. The right tool makes it quick and easy. Rental is totally an option! Most rental places will bring the machine to you for a fee.
You better KNOW there are no water pipes or electrical wires under it.
