Adam 555 DONT REMOVE YOUR KEY CHAINS LIKE THIS!!! if you have a candle, you just light it and heat up the chain, the heat will carry through the pin and slip it out very gently, no pliers required, and it takes allot less effort and has less chance of damaging your figures

It’s actually slightly easier to remove the keychain using a candle and a paper towel. Heating up the middle of the chain heats its entirety, and after less than a minute of heating you need to take the end of the keychain with a paper towel to protect your fingers from burns, pull it out easily and you’re done! Tested it myself, works perfectly :)

Or you could use a soldering iron to heat up the chain and pull the tip out.

there is a slight caviat with this, Lego has made the minifigures so that their pieces can't be used with regular lego (apart from the heads, headpieces and arms). also if with some figures you can just remove the keychain with the pliers rather then cutting it first, but its risky so be careful.

Hi, today finally arrived my LEGO boba fett from 2006 minifigure keychain (the original without keychain was too expensive), you can remove the keychain like this even with that minifigure? I just want to be sure because i don't want to ruin it

Or you can light a candle put the part of the chain near the head into the fire, but don’t burn it! Once you’ve done that Pull off the Chain gentle.
