How to Remove a 99-04 Super Duty Dashboard in 15 Minutes

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

How to Remove an F250/F350 Dashboard in 15 Minutes. I already did a video on 08-10 Dashboards (linked below), so now I wanted to do one for the 99-04 Super Duty trucks so you can just easily get it done in one shot. No more taking every panel off or scratching your head wondering how it's done efficiently. Enjoy!

    fred dubose Well it depends on how much electrical work you want to do. Excursions stock dashes went till 05. Newest you can swap in would be 2016. It’s all a matter of how much work you want to do and wiring. 08-10 is a lot easier and cheaper than the luxury 6.7 dashes

    How far will the dash rotate foward without unplugging everything? I'm wanting to sound deaden my firewall for engine noise but I don't really want to have to remove entire dash.

  • @Jimmyziggy

    Probably 2 feet before it starts tugging on everything. At the point just take the dash out for the extra 7-8 ish plugs.

    With the amount of time you're going to put into getting the dash out far enough to try to put sound deadening material behind it, you are better off just spending the extra 5 to 10 minutes getting everything done enough to just pull the dash out. It's going to be more of a pain in the ass to try to work around the dash. Plus, unless you're going to remove the HVAC system (A/C and heater duct box assembly behind the dash), then it's not going to do you any good to put sound deadening material in it anyway. You need to get the HVAC system out so you can put the material directly on the firewall AND put it on the ENTIRE firewall. It won't really do much good to just do small patches here and there. If you're going to spend the time to try to remove the dash part way, just don't bother and save your money because it won't be worth it. Just spend the time doing the job right so you'll be happy. Besides, it won't cost you much more to do it this way. Although you would have to spend money to have someone properly remove your A/C refrigerant and then spend money to have it recharged again, it would be better this way if you want to really get the noise out. I'm not going to suggest the alternative to having your A/C system properly reclaimed and recharged and you can look that information up yourself. I don't want the EPA breathing down your neck. But you "can" do it yourself and recharge the system for the cost of about 3 or 4 cans of refrigerant from Walmart (about $25 to $30).

    @@eldridge201 i really want to do it properly, i have my entire cab deadened with extra thick rubber mats on the floor and back panel. Road noise is almost nothing, its great. Now i just need to get behind the dash so i can cut out some of the engine noise.

  • @eldridge201

    @eldridge201

    @@conFIGuredAPK Well, like I typed previously, just spend the time and do it right once. No sense spending a few hours trying to do a "patch" job around the HVAC ductwork or unit when you could spend a little more time and money having it removed and do it right. That's just me though. You can obviously do whatever you want but I just think it's pointless to do a "half-assed" job which is what it sounds like you would be doing.
