I accidentally pulled the tab forward. I had ripped part of the bottom of the strip. I came across your video when I was trying to figure out how to remove it after doing that. Very useful. Thank you

It worked ! Finished removing three hooks from my wall , Flawless ! My walls were newly painted just a few months prior so removing them with extra care. This was a little blessing 💕.

Worked for me, thanks. I've made the mistake in the past of continuing to pull until it snapped. This time I pulled, slid fingers up, pulled, slid, pulled, and it finally released. Thanks again!

Finally...I made a costly error months ago and have been too scared to remove the other one that was holding up a large painting. After watching this video. It took less that 15 seconds to remove properly. Wow...how easy! Thanks

A hair dryer will also work if you don’t have a heat gun handy, it’s just a bit slower 👍

Thank you, thank you thank you!! The instructions from 3M are not comprehensive enough, especially for the various sizes. I used the large 7.5 lbs hook that required two strips and was able to remove it successfully without damage!!

What about if i have another type, which is not 3m. is using a hair dryer or possibly alcohol some other methods to remove if there is no obvious way to remove another type of hook on paint without removing the paint from the wall?

Heat gun will bubble up the paint for some people just like my blow dryer did I would suggest dental floss works like a charm

Damn who knew it would take that much effort to remove that adhesive tab 🧐

Often, even when using this technique, the adhesive strip tears off and cannot be retrieved from under the hook. So then what do you do?

3m should have that in their instructions.

I used a similar product which had no labels on the tags so I just ripped it off thinking it was rubbish . So now I have no tag to pull the clips off the wall What can I use now to ease the stickiness to safely remove it

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the adhesive and remove it with a plastic scraper slowly. Any residue left behind can be cleaned with a goo remove preferably a citrus based product 👍

was following tutorial until both tabs snapped midway through and then i took a chunk out of my wall 👍

I’d like to see it removed from a plaster wall (not wood door or drywall wall.).

I'm stuck on step 1, that outer hook part does *not* want to come off. I think whoever stuck these on managed to get the outer hook also stuck to the tape...

The hook you took off was on a timber door totally different to taking a hook off a wall surface haha

Those fraking hooks have the worst User Experience

It didn't work!!🤦‍♀️

This is a sign of a terrible product. The stretch tab should never, ever break under any circumstances. You should never have to use alternate methods to get the hook off. I will never use them again.

Better idea is not to buy this crap for ur walls.
