How To Remove 2006-2013 Lexus IS Steering Wheel!
Hey everyone! I’m proud to say this is my first attempt at making a full length, long format video! I do apologize for the odd angles. I’m so used to filming content for Instagram pictures and reels that I forgot to shoot horizontally instead of vertically😅. Great vid. I just replaced the steering rack on the car. Reinstalled the steering a tad off center. Was debating getting underneath to redo. This will be much easier.

My first attempt haha, it was time consuming but fun for sure!
Great I thought i would need a steering wheel puller for this job, but My steering wheel leather on one side is tearing, so i want to replace the steering wheel. I have to get an alignment soon anyways if i install it a little off center. Great vid! Where did you get the t30 bit?
You could of correct this by turning the inner tyrods on both sides by the same amount and same direction, but you will have to know which direction that corrects it. The same amount of turn is a must to keep the same allignment. Simple for me.

2:08 The 3rd ground cable for the airbag can be pulled off you just need to grab the base with pliers and pull it off or just pull it off with your fingers
It's almost impossible to get it dead center when REPLACING your steering wheel. The reason is because the teeth in the center of the new steering wheel are (almost always) orientated differently than the wheel that came off, so no matter what you do it'll be a bit to the right or the left. You must get an alignment done after installing the new wheel to get it perfect. I've done 3 Lexus steering wheels and every time it's the exact same thing - never goes on perfect dead center...

So far so good! A bit smoother then I was expecting so I had to change how hard I hold the wheel, it has less traction then leather or just normal carbon fiber in resin. It has a great in hand feel but I definitely need to get used to it haha

found it for a deal on FB marketplace but there's a ton of companies that sell them on either eBay or instagram !
