I'm a new homeowner. The previous owners went to great lengths to cover up issues with the bathroom plumbing, leaky faucets, and subsequent water damage. Following your videos, I managed to save thousands of dollars by doing the work myself. Thank you for taking the time to help us amateurs!

@@1fashionblissThe home inspector didn’t catch those things because “the previous owners went to great lengths to cover up issues with the bathroom plumbing, leaky faucets, and subsequent water damage.” No but seriously, an inspection only goes so far. It doesn’t involve tearing up drywall, floors, vanities etc.
That was the best video on remodeling a bathroom I've ever seen on youtube.
There's so much more to this than I thought.
This bathroom is going to last 100 years just by seeing how thoroughly you did it! 😮

Super great video and your computer skills are awesome as well.
Just finished a complete remodel of our hall bath. Subfloor repair and everything else. First time on this type of job and spent six months doing it. Came out great, but had a little lippage on the 4x16 subway tiles. Used Spin Doctor on the floor, but not the walls. Greatly appreciate your channel and videos that were a major help in the whole process. Will be 70 soon, so last job like this one. Thanks!

Great Job!
Fantastic video,thanks very much.🙂
wish I would have looked before I did my bathroom. I was mainly looking to see the best way to tile, I was pretty close on most. I used wonder board instead of go board, was had to cut, not sure if go board would have been the same, also for the floor. wish i would have used that Dita stuff on my floor. Finishing my bathroom I took a ton of tips from this video. thank you
this is an incredible channel. nice work !!!
I wish that I had your skills. Great informational video.

You are incredible. I would never attempt this myself.
Thank you! This was so helpful. I’m in the middle of a bathroom remodel and I’m kind of at my wits end with the steps. We’re doing a walk in shower and adding a vanity. There’s a little electrical but it’s out dated as the house was built in 1959 and we will need to add a couple of light switches, a GFCI outlet, and ceiling vent. I’m not shy to doing the work but doing it right is number one priority to me. Thank you again! The biggest thing is getting permits from community which I’m hoping isn’t a hard process.

I love your video I'm going to purchase your course
Perfect 🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️❤👏👏
You're essentially using top of the line installation methods and materials, I spent hours researching a full bathroom remodel, the best tiles to use, glad that what I found to be the best were utilized by an actual professional in this video. Porcelain tile being the best being impervious to water and moisture, with schulter ditra and kerdi system for the flooring and using an epoxy grout, with a full epoxy finish over the floor and tile being optimal but also optional.
amazing video
Sooo helpful and encouraging. I know we want to do at least most of the bathroom ourselves and had no idea what it would be like. How much is the course?
You’re the best
I have to tune into your channel often just to keep up! 😵💫
wow!
Could you use spectralock 1 on the shower wall tile or is epoxy better?
If I would sand drywall I would use a sanding spunge because it's a lot easier to use than an electric sander because electric sanders are loud and cause a lot of vibration
Hi! We enrolled in the course and began watching to educate before getting into things! In the demo video about installing the ceiling drywall, we noticed that you knew exactly where to cut into the drywall to expose the vent fan. Did you establish markings beforehand? We couldn't find any tips / directions on that. Your advice is much appreciated, thank you!

Where is the course? Link goes to a dead page.
Great tutorial! I am about to start my very first tile job. Nervous. I'm putting nine a niche and have a question. I laid out my tiles with spacers and I have 35 1/2" tub deck to top of tile. Should I make the backer board (hydroban) on the floor of the niche 35 9/16" from the tub deck? I guess I need to know if the tile should be flush with the floor of the niche then I'll use probably marble for the shelf. Also, around the perimeter of the niche I'll use Schluter trim and need to know whether to put the leg inside the niche or on the face ? Would love to talk for a few if possible😊 Jeff
I might have missed it, but is there recommended tool/material list? Thanks heaps btw for the video
Would be awesome if there was a full course where you went into abunch of detail on each area
Question, is goboard strong enough to hold tile on the ceiling over the shower
Hey Steve, Got a question for you. I'm doing my first bathroom renovation. The box store only carried the grey colored kerdi fix which left a little of the stain on my tub. The tile will hide the majority of it, but I'm needing to figure out a way to remove any that tile doesn't cover. Would you suggest using a utility knife and scrape it off or using something to wipe it off? Obviously you know the consistency of kerdi fix and I'm worried I'll have trouble removing it off my white tub. Thanks for your feedback!!
Is there a list of all materials I m going need please 🙏 Thank you
Beast
So when the Go Board is up and you have the corners and screws covered can you use the shower for a week until the tile comes in?? Is the GoBoard waterproof?
You can put primer directly onto the drywall???
I did small tile wall and the mold build up is none stop scrubbing when I would have just did vinyl did I do something wrong by chance??
so what do i do when i step on that tack strip you ran across doorway. should i always wear shoes when i got to the bathroom?
If I buy my light fixtures , vanity myself Install them myself. But have someone to the tub in the shower will that save me a lot of money also?
I want to keep my same tub I don’t want a new tub is it cheaper to do this?
Do you worry about asbestos exposure when you tear down things and how should an average guy protect himself? Thank you very much for sharing!

Very nice video steps clearly mentioned and explained, only one thing urges me to mention is how could you make those white tiles so uneven against eachother, yes they are cut nicelly and spacing is okay-ish but as person who loves to tile and expects perfect smooth transition between tiles from myself, it twists my neck seeing that those white tiles are uneven

Hi Steve, I just came across your channel while searching for house renovation videos. I was looking at your tub/shower bathroom remodel in 7 days or less course and through that on your website found your remodelling online course youtube playlist. Is this the same as your paid for course? I'd be more than happy to buy the course as it's very reasonably priced and if it's different and would be beneficial to me? I am relatively new to taking on such a project and was impressed by the video. Also, I'd love to be able to do the whole house eventually, so was wondering if you had any advice on that or know of any more good resources?

Everyone today is like "don't tile over drywall in a shower!!" This one held 50 years!
Wouldn't the order of this procedure change a lot if you are required to have a permit office sign off in stages, e.g., framing first, then plumbing, then electrical, etc.?
@TobiasRaphael1
Жыл бұрын
Permit requirements are different from state to state and even from town to town. Maybe where Steve is, there isn't a permit requirement for this type of interior job (not altering load-bearing structure). But yes, permits can slow down the streamline process for sure. If the your town is unincorporated, it can be almost do as you will, from what I've been told.
