    @@gurribuy Wc, Your cloth idea made me think differently, tied a New sock with rubber band to the nozzle, the bubbles are silent as the socks calms the pressure so fishes might not get oxygen so reverting back to the glue stick or plastic container with some holes for some bubbles to flow out.

I just need to modify a bit (maybe stitch it with a thread and needle into a tube shape, so it doesn’t open up once in water). But amazing. Thank you. P.S: I have a large tank (7 gallon) but since it came with an already-installed filter, I couldn’t change it or control the flow. So these tricks helped a lot.

    Thanks for the idea brother, I tried your method and reduced the output hole by attaching an old pen, unfortunately I think this causes too much back-pressure which pushes water out through the air intake tube as a side-effect ("made a mess on the table" situation)... So, an alternative I found is, at the end of air-intake-tube, we have a provision for opening it, I pop-opened it, I made a cotton ball and stuffed it into it then closed it; and when turned on, was able to reduce the flow pressure as I preffered...

  • @gurribuy

    @gurribuy

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you bro. But, stuffing the air tube with cotton or any other material only reduces the air intake volume. However, the water flow remains the same. You can verify this by putting you hand in front of the filter output nozzle. But, whatever you did works for you then its great.

    if you reduce the speed then the bubbles will not come out of the filter. If you have a lot of fish in one tank then bubbles are necessary but if you only have 4 or 5 fish then bubbles don't matter much but there should be some water movement inside your tank.

Return it, no need to make any modifications. keep it simple 🙏. Another thing, based on all the ideas you shared, all you are doing is reducing the output flow. which means intake pressure remains the same and Betta wont be able to swim properly, which will stress betta and will eventually result in death. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

    This method is dissipate flow of water so that fish that like calm water can live happily. Are you tetras able to swim in the tank with your filter at the moment. If yes, then you don't have to reduce the flow of the filter but if your fish are being thrown away by the filter then you can use these method to reduce the flow.

    the main idea is to change filter output into many small output stream. we are not trying to slow down or stop the water flow. we are just trying to change single stream of water into many small stream so that all the small streams are not that powerful. it will not damage your filter.
