    I was inspired by another poster called 'precious plastic'. My idea was to separate plastics and make plastic 'boards' and other 'lumber'. After investing several thousand dollars, I had to give up because there were too many people who expected 'cash donations' to run my business. We have such a corrupt government.

    I watched a lot of Vid of these recycling plants in India and other Asian countries. The way THIS one is done is DAY and NIGHT difference in efficiency. Third world countries have people sitting on the floor sorting out pieces of Plastic and putting them into bins then dumping them into hoppers. Dirty, Filth, Disease etc is all over the place and those people are SITTING in it. This vid shows how to actually do it and maintain a certain HEALTHY Environment as well. And, it has NOTHING to do with not being educated,,it has everything to do with WHO is running those plants. Very Well Educated people that go home to a NICE house while expecting their own people to live is squalor. That is why those countries never progress...they don't Want their "Lower class" to have a chance at a good life, And it;s the same thing in Mexico, etc. Sadly, America depicted as a place where you have no chance at a better life.,,and I find that sad.

    third world countries don't have the money to invest in these big machines. yes, the government might be at fault for not introducing this as the country's program for the future, but it's basically got to do with no money and not enough capital to start this. therefore, direct labor is the only thing working for waste separation (as of now). i promise you, there are individuals and small organizations working on this in third world countries.

    MrDegsy69 the collection is over now. It was halted because of Covid, though. Also they were collecting any kind of lids, like laundry detergent lids, water bottle caps, milk bottle caps, etc. I hope they do make at least one bench with the ones they had, because there was about 5 thousand or so from each grade. Also they didn’t tell us to collect bottles, which I guess is weird if they’re trying to get as much plastic as they can.

    We should use glass milk containers. This is just postponing problem of plastics.

  • @aleksandarjankovic8265

    @aleksandarjankovic8265

    4 жыл бұрын

    @Devlin B If we use glass for milk containers, we will not have problem with used plastics milk containers. Glass container can be used multiple times, and glass is more eco friendly, and can be recycled too. Those plastic benches will eventually degrade under UV light, and we need to recycle them again, or leave them in nature... This is not solving a problem, this is creating need to use more plastics, in areas that we did not use plastics before.

    Wood benches also are not fireproof and Metal is not rustproof. Every material has + and -. What matters is reducing plastic pollution which is issue while puting plastic in more lasting eco friendly use. Metal and Wood already are part of recycling systems. 🙄

    As anyone who has a slightest level of understanding of plastics, ALL plastics when exposed to weather, particularly SUNSHINE, breakdown and revert to minute dust particles blowing around everywhere, contaminating everything. To reuse plastic in the manner, DOES NOT SOLVE THE POLLUTION PROBLEM, in fact it accelerates it, by reducing the particles to minute size in less time than it would take under normal conditions.
