Why did you use super glue. Using glue would block the passage of air and can be dangerous as pressure will build up in the battery. Rubber caps are used to release the pressure

Don’t use distilled water, 20% sulfuric acid is the best for this job

You make a bomb by using such glue. Hydrogen gas need a way to go out
