Another interesting recovery! You mentioned that nowadays you would have attempted to fix the device rather than swapping the memory and controller chips.. do you have any idea on what is/would be the issue with the defective board? Thanks again for sharing your vast knowledge!

Hello, I'm from Brazil and I have a problem with my Seagate 2t external hard drive. It disconnected itself from my MacBook's USB port and since then the computer is no longer recognizing it. Additionally, the blue light no longer lights up when connected to the HD. I did a test and removed the part where the light is and connected it to another HD, and on this other HD the light blinks. When I enter the disk utility, the HD appears there with its 2t, but it does not appear in the folders on my computer. I have already used 3 different data recovery programs, however they freeze at a certain point without finding any files and it keeps saying that there are more than 100 hours left to complete the process. I'd like your opinion and, if you have Discord, we could set up a quick video call just so you can take a look and make an assessment. Thank you for your attention!

Pumping out videos like a mad man. However, you should maybe think about a better inventory management if you have "boxes full of stuff that you forgot about".

what kind of flux is that? i dig how you heat your work remove the chip and wick the old solder off and clean the pads and re tin them ..these videos are great to learn the working knowledge of data recovery...and one other question do the caps have values wrote on them like paper ones or is that info on the schematic ..finding this channel is like watching Ken Shirriff's stuff ..im in awe :) thanks

Thanks for binging dude! Flux is made by MG Chemicals and it's been my absolute favorite for many years. I have Amazon links to it just in case in description. Caps don't have values written on them, but some good multimeters are able to measure capacitance. I use UNI-T UT61E+ at the shop and it has that mode for measuring
