Great tips - thank you!
You answered so many of my questions about audio ! Thank you so much !
This video of yours is one of the BEST on wedding audio recording that I've ever watched. It's because you show every step of your workflow by using video. For example, you show what cables to use. Later you show the dj mixer where your recorders are plugged in. You also show the result of your audio recording by showing the clip of the speaker speaking. You also share the personal skill to get other people's cooperation to make your job easier. Wow! Thank you so much for such a THOROUGH and EFFECTIVE tutorial.

Lovely video!!
At this point in time 32 bit float is king
I never try to mic the bride. Usually the groom is close enough to catch them both. I might even put a 2nd mic on the officiant. Asking a stressed out bride to strap a mic to her leg that may or may not be comfortable is a bad idea in my opinion. It also may mess up the look of her dress. Plus im usually way too busy to be helping her get the mic on right. Just dropping mics into the groom and officiant is quick and easy. Tascam 10l is very good and will pick up both

You should check out Justin porter. He makes it fun and exciting when dealing with brides and bridesmaids
Solid advice, Raph! I particularly appreciated you sharing your phonecall w/ the bride and then the talk about dj etiquette and friendliness at the end. It felt very sincere!

Hope it helps you dude. I've always known about the attenuator but never bit the bullet to actually get one. Now it's just a normal back up of mine.
Nice work

Another 🔥 video bro!! As a proud audio nerd, this one particularly kept my attention! Did you use the lab mic to record the audio for the video itself?
@RaphealPersaud

No I used a Rode Videomic Pro +. Thinking about upgrading to a NTG4 though!
I would like to see a video how you set up your audio equipment for weddings in depth settings to the gear you have

Noted!
Should turn on that light on in the background always good to have a light source in the background just adds to the background.
This video is gold! Do you mind sharing where you purchased your go wireless lav mic sleeves? Ive looked up online but having issues finding the right fit.

@@RaphealPersaud fabulous I hope it's out before end of June, shooting my first wedding in July
Hey, I really like this video a lot. Here’s my question I don’t do videography, but I was asked if I could video wedding vows. I’m a photographer but I can record video. I have a rode video mic pro. Would it be simpler to mount my microphone on a boom and wirelessly connected to my camera? Or get that rode video mic go to wireless system? I’m not doing anything fancy with sound boards or anything like that just my camera and microphones direct.

I would get the wireless lav system like the ones below: Rode wireless go (hamzn.to/3LXbxym) DJI Mic (amzn.to/41eoOqC)
Where does one find those leg garders ?
Hello Rapheal! Did you active the phantom power supply when you connected the 1/4" into the XLR port of the H5?
@RaphealPersaud
Жыл бұрын
At 9:57 I show that I’ve plugged it into a power source.
Why not just use a wireless mic for the bride ?
09:52 what cables have you used out of the three you mentioned earlier in the video? it looks like you've got two cables plugged into the mixer from this

I believe he use a stereo to dual 1/4 inch trs cable.
is there any setting on a zoom h5 recorder I need to set if I were to tap in dj soundboard audio with a xld cable?
@RaphealPersaud
Жыл бұрын
Hey Jason. Besides setting the recording mode to the highest setting, there's nothing else that I do. All audio edits are done in post for me!
do i need a rca to dual xlr or just rca to xlr? I know RCA is a left and right cable but do you also need a dual xlr then?
@RaphealPersaud
11 ай бұрын
RCA to a single XLR is fine. A dual XLR is only needed if you want to separate left and right channels in your own recorder.
For your Dr-10x, what did you set as your mic gain to? Because I heard you can set it to “EXT” and you don’t need an attenuator? Thanks!
