Hi Darren, as an old Jeti user, I've now discovered FrSky and Ethos, and therefore I'm seriously considering to replace all my Jeti stuff, because Ethos seems to be excellent. Programming is so cool, and the most important issue, the transmission seems to be okay also. First of all: Thank you for your endeavour to explain all this important Ethos stuff for newbies. FrSky does a lot, but not too much to make the operation clear and successful. Most of the programming you can figure out by yourself, but things like logging e.g. are really well hidden. Thx and kind regards! 👍👍👍

Nice one Darren, covering the topic that nobody has really covered before-yes it might seem easy to some but there are a number of people out there who still know nothing about writing log files, and how to set it up or access them. Hope my "friends" are looking after you (I sent you an email remember😉)👍👍

Thanks John. Yes, I totally agree. To someone new, even seemingly simple things are worth sharing.

Very good infos from you👍👍😊. Is there a way to copy widget screen to work on a other models?

No, you need to make widget screens for each model. However, when creating a new model. You could clone an existing one. That will keep the widget screens the same as far as I know.

Hi, great tutorial as usual!!! Many thanks. Quick question: I've Frskytelemetry which works great but I can't manage to get telemetry logs. In the CSV file I see the columns heathers related to telemetry but with no data. What am I doing wrong??? Thanks

Hey Darren. Thank you for the great videos. Is there a possibility of running a background program (user made) that would read in the data file in real time, analyze it, and then execute some command?

It may be possible with a LUA script. But I don’t know enough about LUA to say either way. It depends on if LUA can do it, if there’s enough memory and processing power, and maybe you could do what you want with the live data from sensors anyway.

Hi Darren - is it normal for RSSI signal to drop to the range of 50s & 40s ? I have been observing this on one of my models. In closed range flying the RSSI drops to this range & VFR remains pretty decent above 90. I am using the FRSKY X20s with R8 Pro. Just concerned if something needs to be checked / changed / upgraded.

These days I look more at VFR. RSSI can go down to 35 before it's an issue. However, it may be worth checking how your antennas are installed, and if any of them are damaged.

VFR better than RSSI ? Also my X20S says 'VFR low when I turn it on.

Yes. RSSI is the received signal strength indication. Whereas VFR is the valid frame rate. You could have a low RSSI but still be getting a good VFR. This is especially true with LoRa systems, like that in R9, TANDEM (900MHz side), and one half of TWIN. Don't worry about the VFR low when you power on. Once both the transmitter and receiver are on and happily bound. That's when you can pay attention to it.
