I totally agree and so happy I found his video yesterday! I was watching his OBS video and took me all day till 3am this morning to set my OBS up and now I want to watch this video how to record,. Michaelm needs to get a GOLD MEDAL for actually speaking clear and explaining in detail.

Same, other OBS tutorials are filled with ambitious teen-adults who give you half-baked info and trick you into giving your recording info for the public to grab. It seriously feels like a hate crime for folks who DON'T want to use webcams or use TTS on their recordings!I have my OBS now updated but without that extra mod nonsense like OwnPro or bs those fake 40k+ sub channels have.

Hello there and friendly greetings! Thanks for another excellent tutorial! I do not consider myself new to OBS but surely not a pro at all. Some suggestions were totally new to me! So again... Thank you very much! 🙂

The problem when recording in a format other than MP4 is KZread conversions. All videos are compressed to MP4 on KZread despite what we set in OBS (this was something I researched a while back). This increases the upload times because of the conversion process. Also I do have pretty good luck with the vast majority of my game recordings using VBR (Variable Bit Rate) with 11000 - 12000 for the bit rate start and end. CBR is more for those that stream. I found that the other bit rate settings in OBS didn't yield a nice quality video (again KZread compression really kills the quality). Results will vary also on the GPU a person has.

Watched a few of ya vids, and they did help, but with e few games I have run, they don't always get recorded by OBS, unless there is another option like plugins to assist. Other than the capture card for by XB1X, I have to set different settings for either display or game capture. And my mic is added from the settings --> Audio --> Mic/Auxillary Audio, I use a corsair headset / boom mic.

Great video but I noticed a lack of setting for AMD encoders. Is this coming in a separate video? I use an AMD RX 6900 XT to stream 1440 to YT with no issues as all. Recording however, is a different story. So any input in that area would be awesome. Either way, Thanks for the great content.

I use an AMD and it was automatically in OBS for me and I have had no issues at all.

Amazing tutorial as usual!!, just one thing, i put my webcam on top of the game, but when i start recording the camera doesnt show up on top, when i check the recording is there, ,but not when i'm playing, is there a way to let the camera recording on top of the game at the same time that i'm playing? thanks in advance and keep doing such this great work!

I believe that's not possible on a single screen. That's why usually content creators have more than 1 screen to keep an eye on everything at the same time. Umm you can use your phone camera by connecting it via USB and using iriun webcam app. That works really great.

Hey, I have a question for you and I hope you or a viewer can help. I have Google searched it and have been working on this for about six (6) hours testing and re-testing. I followed you video to the T or to the Letter. I even lost my mic settings completely and started from scratch. No matter what I do or what I don't do every time I talk into my mic my Desktop Audio meter activates just like my mic meter in OBS. I can't figure out why my desktop audio and my mic are linked, shared, merged. I even started a brand new OBS profile starting from scratch and walked through your video and it does the same thing. Which causes me major headaches when I go into my editing software and both tracks have me on mic. I have tried so many times to find out why I can't get my mic and desktop to be separate tracks. I have watched various KZread videos, looked up OBS forums, Googled like crazy. I just don't get it. This PC is brand new right off the assembly line. OBS is up to date, brand new mic. Any ideas?

There is an option to record sound per application. This allows you to have music playing that's on its own audio track. Mkv give you upto 6 audio channels and using per app sound recording with multiple tracks give you a level of freedom that is pretty handy in post

Great Video as usual however….. Is not entirely true does not effect anything in Your Pc if You will use Nvenc. It will have and impact on Your fps, no much but there is an impact for sure.Another thing is, if You will add webcam (like myself) this will take around 10% from You Gpu performance.Definitely streaming from gpu will be a better choice over cpu to have less impact on stream in overall.

Release the pedal and the exact opposite occurs Avatar 2 microphone muted lip sync muted Avatar 1 microphone 100% lip sync 100% Biggest problem with this I'm assuming would be how to set it up due to the fact that it's considered one microphone on the system Left Channel mic right Channel mic still only one microphone I'm wondering if there's any way of doing this properly

What you're trying to achieve is doable, with hotkeys and a stream deck you're good to go.

I have an AMD Radeon graphics card, what do ai do?

Does not work. My screen shows black every time. I've watched dozens of these tutorials and they all go the same route. All of them shows that mini window with the game capture perfectly, but mine continues to stay black. What am I doing wrong here?

Welp guess I can't use OBS since for some reason the option of using NVIDIA doesn't exist for me, when I have NVIDIA on my computer.

For anyone using OBS 29 pls don't overclock your GPU or CPU depending on what you are using for encoding & video capturing. OBS doesn't communicate well with overclocked hardware I had to learn this the hard way... Going live on twitch wouldn't even work at all & if it did my game capture would freeze after loading into a game

You shouldn't convert to mp4 if you plan on editing. You loose the audio separations that you would use in your editor software

I record in MP4 through OBS and each audio device on a separate track. No issues editing audio and they are all on separate tracks.

@Fun With The Bugs when did mp4 start supporting multiple audio streams? As of 10 mo ago, obs only exported a single audio track of all your audio streams combined.

@@JagoDragon Not sure but if you setup things correctly you can get your audio tracks separately. So I have 2 mics and game audio all record on their own separate tracks.

Everything works but my audio is all fucked up like none of it works

id say that the kinda has low quality so i recommend not doing his settings

Don't you just press record? Did you really need to make a video on this?
