I cannot even tell you how grateful I am for this! Your willingness to share useful information and give back to other artists/content creators is so humbling. Thank you thank you. You've inspired me, and I congratulate myself on understanding your processes, making me feel ready invest into my gear, especially for my home videos. So cool! Guess my question is, do you ever EQ your reverbs? Taking out some of the low ends especially for a tighter halo around your vocal tone?

try adding a low cut EQ and take out everything below around 250 hz also a high shelf eq can be nice too taking out some high end.
I had a full mixing class at UCLA and this was way more informative and easier to understand! Blessings xx🧡

I went there too! not for music, but I did take some of the music business and musicology courses.. did go to LA recording school tho.. and I can say you will almost never learn in a traditional college what you can from youtube or a trade school for this stuff..
Thank you so much for showing all the takes in your session, for the longest time I thought I sucked because it does take me an hour to get a 2-minute take I'm proud of. You know, warming up, figuring out the vowels and breath support, timing, getting into the zone essentially. Edit: also, you sound better without tuning, the result is more human and soulful!
He is a source of inspiration...not just in music but in general, in life.❤❤love and support from Mauritius❤
never stop being this real and understanding. Thanks man. This video helped me out a lot.
Jo - I love your simple approach to recording! This is super helpful & valuable info and I look forward to applying this to my worship videos. Thank you so much & God bless!
To the tips about focusing on artistry over equipment: PREACH PREACHAAA!! Thank you for sharing your journey, tips, and prices for everything you use in such a plain, conversational, and informative way
I’ve been enjoying your videos for about a year now. Always thought you had a team or something working on your vids. This goes to show that most of a great, natural sound is the work done before you even open a DAW and start recording. Great sound in, even better sound out. Thanks a lot for sharing your process.
This was so useful and the algo suggested it to me at the perfect time! I just started learning how to use a DAW for vocals last month and was overwhelmed with the interface at first. Hearing your thought process is super helpful and I can't thank you enough for creating this video!
YOU SOUND INCREDIBLE DONT LET ANY "ENGINEER" TELL YOU IT DOESNT. PERIOD. LOVEU
Thank you for the transparency and simple, yet detailed breakdown. I'm constantly trying to improve the quality of my content, so this will definitely come in handy!!
It's so good to listen to his voice. It's classic and contemporary at the same time
I really enjoyed this. I've been studying music production and every great producer I have the pleasure to talk to or watch some masterclass or course says that it's about removing the weird things and frequencies and not about trying to ad stuff to your mix, specially when it comes to bad recordings. great video!
I went a music institute and u made understand all these buttons and what they “taught me” in 30 mins in more than a year good job explaining fr😊
I'm so glad I found this. Just in love with your approach! Simple yet delivers great results. I am sure your journey hasn't been easy, but you're doing a great job Joseph. God bless you! Looking forward to to listen to your music and more of such helpful videos. - Joel Issac
Yes, Thank you so much for this! Love your clean simplistic sound on KZread!

Helpful video brother. God bless you.
Thank you so much for this - super helpful! Can't wait for the recording videos tutorial!! :D
First time watching and listening to your music. Just found you off of Tiktok and I just wanna say bro you're a musical genius! Talented and skilled! Keep doing you, man! Your music is great and you just gained another fan.
This was so helpful thanks a lot, your music and covers are great too!
This soothed some misconceptions I had about Auto-tune, so thank you. I'm already a shy singer so when I heard what my voice sounded like on full auto-tune, I was like "oh god, I must be awful if it's working that hard to pull me on pitch" so I started making the settings on pitch correction less harsh. I liked the sound better, but still wondered if I was using incorrectly. Nice to see that more lenient settings on auto-tune is okay :)
this is exactly what I needed today. You are an example to follow. I will be releasing my own covers soon! I am excited :)))
I’ve been waiting for this one thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm looking into voice work and although I realize there are many differences when recording music, I think this may be really helpful.
Thanks for all the helpful advice man. Never really looked at autotune as a tool but rather as a cheat. You definitely made it sound appealing as a tool to basically get the best out of an already amazing performance!
Thank you so much. You have just blessed us all. ♥️
You the real man bro, lets bump your algorithm up. Have a blessed one!!
I love your energy man, you're awesome ☀️
I really like how honest you are and don't make your self sound super professional ...Im an engineer but i still watch videos like this to learn different workflows
bro youre amazinggg, thank you for your consistency to us🐼🔥🔥🔥
That is a great sounding vocal sir! May I suggest making an aux channel for the reverb instead of putting it directly on the vocal channel? Plugins (much like hardware) react differently based on how much signal you feed through them. And every plugin has a sweet spot. If you need anymore explanation I'd be happy to help.
My boy can sang! I feel you on that "one note that nags" joint. The whole thing can be flawless but I'll remember and focus on that one note and it will haunt me. Great Video!
Thank you for this...loved everything about it. you rock man
love how you give examples out of music works
Thank you so much for your advice and transparency about your process!
THANK YOU SO MUCH JOSEPH THIS IS THE WORLDDDD

Sweet!! Thanks man. Good stuff!
soo happy you made this video, it is sooooooooo helpful. Bless you^U^.
Great! Thank you for sharing your useful information. ❤️
great video man, sound engineering fundamentals that everyone should know
Woah, you have a really nice tone in your voice. Just wanted to say that I could definitely tell a difference in auto tune, perhaps because I’ve played the violin for around a decade and tuned it without needing the tuner too, so the trained “perfect” pitch inside of me is tingling me whenever the tuning is even a bit off. Hahaha, I guess it’s just my problem, but you really are a great great singer and auto tune is like the salt and pepper that enriches/supports your voice to sound much more natural, don’t know if you get what I mean but keep up the good work brother!
I have this exact mic so this is amazing content for me! thank you!!
Lol, love the dancing for say a little prayer for you.
Amazing 🙏🏽 thank you for this
Love your vibe, thanks for the tech advice. I'm saving up for better equipment
God bless you cuz you sho coulda had this be a Skillshare class!!!😁✍🏾📝 Thank you for choosing to sow into others who may not have the means otherwise. 🙌🏾
Nice one brother! Love chilling with you :)
i fuck with the honda / acura analogy ... on point
You are my inspiration bro.
pretty good video, thanks for the information and advices
Youre amazing! Thanks for the gems. Reminded me of when my vocal coach told me that 99.9% of favored artist all use autotune.
Thanks so much man!! Subbed 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for this bruv, this is super helpful

bro your video quality is amazing
love youuuu broooo!!
Thank you so much! that was a ton of help. my only issue now is I use a nt1 and having all the little noises that break through and how clean it sounds irks me sometimes. Im still learning but with a newborn I cant be dropping money on a new mic right now. Thank you again. I love watching how people record cause I want to learn.
One of the most beautiful vibrant voices of our time my friend
Loved the video. Butttt you actually CAN record without the effects while still JUST hearing the effect through the Apollo. See that little red dot on the inserts, click it and it’ll turn blue. When it’s blue you can HEAR the effects BUT it won’t record them. One of my fav Apollo features! 🙌🏾🙏🏾 I hope it helps!
love you my man x
you are so down to earth !
