I just did this mod to my 2023. It was fairly easy, and as suggested, just unhook and move one switch at a time. I did find one switch I moved to the upper row had a really short wire and the only way to get it to reach the new position was to unclip the main wiring bundle to give it some slack. Before I put the panel back on, I zip tied the wire bundle to the panel so it wouldn't rattle. Also, I found using a paint can opener made it super easy to pull the rubber seal back over the plastic panel. Just push the hooked end behind the seal and pull it over the panel edge. Cheers.

I did this to my 2023 pro4x and the one thing you have to be careful of is that the harness is a bit shorter after relocating buttons. So you need to make sure the rest of the sub harness does not get bound in between the metal frame of the dash and the knee bolster when reassembled. This could lead to a cut or chafing of the harness to a ground. There is some tape holding the harness together in the original configuration you can remove to allow a little more lenth and the rest of the harness will route under the metal frame 😉

The whole panel comes off fairly easy. Just grab near each side of the panel and pull away from the dashboard. The panel clips are not that tight. BUT the under panel is flimsy at best. Putting the under panel back is just as easy. Align up the clips to the dash and the panel snaps in. You will not feel that tight snap as on other panels, but it snaps in place. The rubber weather door strip is each to go around that edge of the panel. Just use a small tip flat blade screwdriver and just work it over the edge of the panel. FYI, do each switch separately so not to get confused with all the plugs hanging around.

Kudos for the video. Made reorganizing the switches a breeze. Toyota switches are very similar to the Nissan ones in that they fit the same slots even tho they're different buttons. I did have to trim some of the plastic housing off the back when I relocated several of my switches due to clearance.

Showing where you tugged on frame to release clips would have been helpful! I successfully folded the side vinyl stripping .... (short prayer) and then tugged lightly and it came off. Rest just like your video. Now to install my vintage junk yard cop siren & wiring harness and mess with the punks on my block. Don't try tugging on much with an old vehicle with dry-rotted dash components. When you crack stuff like that 3M Marine 5200 sealant in white or black spreads on nicely behind and once that stuff dries. 3-4days it's stronger than ever.

No , seems like a bad place for a switch. but I have the USB charger that they discontinued in there.

I dig the info but all we really see is your hand most of the video

Hopefully you don't drive at night because they don't light up and interior lighting in the new frontier is seriously poor .

Mine light up. The interior lighting it's too bright I usually turn the screen off and the gauge cluster doesn't dim enough.
