@@rafianoshin3174 From the vernier scale, we have to pick the number that lines up best with a main scale number. Here, the point right after 7 lines up best. Since each point is 0.02 mm, the reading on the vernier scale will be 0.72 mm. We already got 5 mm from the main scale so the reading will be 5.72 mm.

This was pretty good! Though, I'd be interested to know how many people who commented about how much they learned about reading Vernier calipers pronounce it as "VENEER" calipers especially since you said it correctly everytime. Honestly, the first thing I'd have mentioned is it is named after the Frenchman who devised the scale in 1631, Pierre Vernier and not because it can be used, coincdently, to measure veneers. Otherwise, this was very clear and well done! Being an old guy myself, I was using Vernier scaled tools long before digitals were invented so this seems kind of strange to see over 950 comments of absolute amazement! At the same time it's nice to see so many people learning something of great value. Keep up the good work.

It's my first day as an internee in a factory and I asked a guy to show me how to read the vernier and he laughed saying how couldn't a mechanical engineer read a vernier, it's break time now and this saved my day. Thanks a lot.

This video is a tremendously useful refresher. Every time I need to dust off my caliper I always end up here. I hope you have this backed up or redistributed places, as it's seriously top tier.

Bro you explain like a genius, you made physics look fun
No loud annoying music in the background distracting instructor. Awesome. To the point. Clear and easy.
Trust me, I've never heard a more soothing narrator's voice than this ever on KZread. Plus, the explaination is damn sophisticated.
I had no idea I could use a caliper to measure this way. I've been ignoring the Vernier scale and eyeballing it. This is great information, thank you!
Stumbled across this while searching for something totally unrelated, amazing explanation and the animations are the best I could ask for, no clutter, straight to the point both timewise and visually
Bob, I wish All the best for you and your doggy...
wow as a welder who had trouble learning to use measuring tools in class, your videos are teaching me everything i never thought i could comprehend!!! thank you so much for this videos!! i can now read a tape measure in inches and metrics!☺

My 12 years of struggle to understand vernier caliper was ended by 7 minutes of explanation. Thanks for the video.
Thank you! I keep coming back to your video whenever in doubt about my analog Vernier caliper. You're my Bob Ross of Vernier calipers, seriously. As much as I learn, I also enjoy watching a true teacher at work.

Finally!!!!! Thank you so much! I had my Physics teacher explain it over and over again in class and had friends try to help me figure out how to use a Vernier caliper but I was still so confused! This 7 min video made everything clear for me so simply❤️
Best video on vernier caliper on KZread. Even though it dates back to 2014 the quality is still excellent. Hats off to the creator. Good job Bob!
Wish we had you as a teacher in school 40 years ago
Dude I appreciate this soo much! I felt so stupid in class for not knowing how the hell to read the thing. I have a test tomorrow that involves measuring with this and I was so nervous until I found this video. You explained and taught it in a clear understandable way! You’re the best!

I watched a total of like 6 videos about this. The quality of this one isn't even comparable to the others. It gave me exactly what i wanted
This is a better explanation that most video's. Thank you. This helped me greatly.
you deserve a subscription I swear! I have a practical tom and this video literally saved my life. Thanks. Stay blessed.
My dad gifted me one of these some years back, just had to use it for the first time and had no clue. You helped me tons, thanks!
hours of class and years of barely knowing how to use it to enough to get by loosely and know after your short video it finally clicked! Thank you! such great info said in such a well delivered way!
Thank GOD for the Internet & thank you "Bob Welds"
That's great you teach so well. I remember all steps without writing a single word. Thanks Bob!
being so used to dial calipers for work i never worked with a vernier but was gifted one from an old machinist that retired. i havent used one since college. thanks for the refresher.
I excelled at industrial design (BA) and woodwork (Dip) without properly understanding how to use my calipers. Now I have to teach a whole bunch of people how to use them. I won't give them this link but if they happen to find this comment I am sure we'll all see the funny side. Thanks Mr Welds! XD

One of, if not the, single best informative videos I've ever come across on youtube! Thanks @WeldNotes
Taking a physics lab this summer and this video was simple to follow! Thank you!
That was the simplest most comprehensive explanation of reading a Vernier caliper I've heard. Thanks.
Hated verniers my whole life. Cut to fourth year of Uni i was still stuck. Until now. Saved me hoursssss of frustration! Saviour you are 🙌

just bought a vernier caliper and had to use this to work out how to use it. Perfect, and brilliantly explained.
Currently a freshman in Mechanical Engineering.. This video really helps for my upcoming practicals!
What a LEGEND! Thank you for helping a guy out in 2020.
Thank you so much learnt the 2 hour lesson in the class in like 3 min
Thanks man, you explained this 100 times better than my professor did, I now have 200% understanding of how it works thanks to you.
Thanks! The best video on vernier calipers on KZread. My doubts are now all clear. Those 3 exercise helped me a lot to figure it out ;)
First I was like, yeeh who needs a tutorial to be able to read one of theese thingies.. but I didn't know that you could read it so precisely! This will help alot in my crafts so thank you! 😉😊
Thnks sir for clearing all my doubts regarding vernier scale.😊
I appreciate not only the graphical presentation but also the practice session. :-D Keep up the good work !
Bob you just explain it so clearly, thanks man just learn something new today. The only problem I had was finding exactly the must align line.
thanks, man! better than my teachers and way easier to understand.

ive touched this thing back when i was in middle school. never understand how to read it. now i just saw a random tweet, asking how to read it and i just curious. this video is easy to understand. thank you.
As a person who is really struggling thank you so much for the help, truly.
I don't why this popped up on my feed, but I learned something today
I find this video really far better than other ones.....really simple yet clean explanation....thanks😄

this video helped me so much,i couldn't understand how to read it when my teacher taught us,this really helped me thx so much!(my exam's next week)wish me luck.
Your the best after I watched this I finally can explain how read calipers to my instructor teachers 👨🏫 👨🏫 🙂🙂❤️❤️
You know, I really don't get it. I can watch a machinist do his damnedest to explain how to read vernier calipers, but vids like this just hit home way easier. Thanks bruh
Thanks a lot sir. Online classes due to covid has killed my seriousness for studies, but i think this one bought it back for me. Gotta write practical exam tomorrow. Thank you sir. Love from India.
This lesson really made my job easier, for I have to measure with calipers daily and confused many time with the numbers. Thank you so much.
Been watching your videos ever since I was taking 9th grade IGCSE and now I'm back at AS level, thanks for making this for us❤️ Oh and btw you said 16 instead of 60 at 3:37
