How to re install motor brushes on a DC Motor ( Currie Ebike ) same for all DC Motors

This is a quick video for a subscriber how to get the motor brushes to go back in a 24 volt Ebike DC MOTOR , made by a company called CURRIE MOTORS, I found it very tricky but then I noticed something :)
Hope you can get it fixed using this technique.
PLEASE NOTE I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO EDIT THE VIDEO

I'm glad that there are smart people in the world like you, to help me fix my brainfart moments when I figured I'd remove the faceplate of this same motor to see if the problem was hidden underneath. Only to instantly make several "new" problems! THEN, it was how the F%#K do I get this back together!? Now I know....Thanks

You sir are an absolute STAR!! I had tried to refit the brushes using tape to hold them in place and then pull it out but that just wasn't happening!! I would never have known those holes were there if I hadn't found your video so thank you! Quick tip for anyone who needs to do this and can't find any wire to use that is thin enough to go through the holes! I used the centre core wire from coaxial TV/Sky cable which is just the right size.

@@GavinFreedomLover You're very welcome. Unfortunately, after refitting the brushes there was still no life in the motor and I'm not sure what the issue is. There's definitely power going to the motor but no movement. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. If it helps and you don't mind I could send a picture? It is a 24V 250W electric bike motor (not a hub motor) Cheers

I didn't until I filmed it and saw the tiny holes, the last bit pulling the wires can be tricky but take your time you should get it sorted.

@@GavinFreedomLover Hey, now that you helped me to get my motor reassembled, I have another question that I thought you might want to take a shot at. I got everything together, the bike was running fine, then one day it quit running, power was not getting to the motor. I did a direct connect from the battery pack to the motor, the motor runs. Could it be the control box? I don't really want to buy one and find out that wasn't the problem. Any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated..Btw, thanks again for the help last time.

@@GavinFreedomLover Yes, it worked, thanks again. I rode the bike a couple of times, then it quit running. S, but if somehow I can no longer get power to the motor through the bike's wiring, but if I connect it directly to the power source, it runs. I'm thinking the speed control box may not be working. I'm thinking about getting a new box, but I don't want to end of putting more money into the bike than it is worth...anyways thanks for your help.

I just use thread and looped it around the brush wires coming out of the square brush mounts tying the opposite sides around the back plate of the motor, than cutting the thread and pulling it out once I got the plate set. It was a lot easier!

I looked at this motor for hours and hours before I realised there were holes there.
